Explain in detail how someone deciding to take out a 50 year mortgage will impact the nation’s inflation. This should be good lol

A totally radical idea that would receive very popular support and US oligarchs would shite the bed over would be to reimplement sound money policy. Back our currency with gold again. I’m under no delusion that this would actually happen but if Trump just mentioned the idea it would be fun to watch DC flip out.

This was a good demonstration by Thomas Massie on how to build a coalition and get legislation passed. He even got President Trump to change his mind.

This is not legislation. This is an attempt to damage Trump going into the mid-terms. The left-commies only want power and these supposed "conservatives" are stupidly, trying to help them get it. What does that make Massie? This is not coalition building.

It’s all good. Benevolent Massie extended an olive branch to Trump yesterday and Trump is now on Team Transparency.

I didn’t realize I’d have to explain basic economics today, but ok.

Widespread use of 50-year mortgages would increase the pool of buyers leading to the following:

First: this would clearly push home prices up leading to eventual higher rental and shelter costs causing a strong pressure toward inflation

Second: Increasing high risk loans leading to another bubble followed by a crash followed by another bail out leading to inflation

Third: Lower monthly notes with inflated home value leads to more spending which leads to more inflation

Fourth: private equity would jump on this and apply even more pressure toward upward home values (we are clearly seeing this now) which leads to a higher cost of living.

Fifth: the rising shelter costs would feed into higher wage demands and cost-of-living adjustments leading to a wage/price loop that keeps inflation elevated.

Sixth: all this new capital being sucked into the real estate market away from productivity would lead to slow growth and chronic inflation in the long run

First, you are assuming a huge percentage of new buyers would use the 50 year option and then you are assuming they are likely going to default. Private equity buys in cash not financing, your third, fourth, and sixth points are comically stupid. You typed a lot of words to describe your lack of economic understanding

I am basing my assumption on history. On 2008. On private equity buying patterns. On past consumer behavior.

I can point to the basis of my assumptions. For you to assume people wouldn’t take advantage of 50 year mortgages begs the question “why push for it and do it in the first place?”

The same reason ARM, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40 year mortgages are a thing because it may help low income families afford a home. It ISN’T going to put a family making 75k into a 400k home nor is it going to flood the market with new buyers. You are talking about 200$ in savings per month vs a 30 year mortgage

Gold Was $35 per ounce in early 1970's. Mother stayed home with 3.72 kids, dad worked, there were two cars paid for, a house, paid for almost all healthcare out of pocket with insurance for catastrophic coverage, and family went on an annual vacation.

Gold is now above $4,000 per ounce, single mother works with 2 kids in daycare, uses SNAP benefits, has medicaid, no husband, 17 year old car with a high interest upside down loan, but she is so excited about the 50 year mortgage. Dad can't live with the liberal biotch so he pays child support and works two jobs.
