Ochsner is also starting something like this. They will be signing up kids for their own accounts at 12 and only certain info will go to the parents.

And in the next breath people who feel like this will fight tooth and nail to make the point that a person who signed up for excessive amounts of student loans didn’t have the intellectual capacity and life experience to know the details of what they were signing their name to and were taken advantage of.

This part is just bullshite.

quote:

It allows government employees up to two days to notify parents that their child was the victim of a crime or sexual assault in school.

There is no reason NOT to report this immediately. All trace evidence will be gone by the time they report it.

I mean what in the frick

Hmmm
Open a home school supply/support company in WA?
But…. Then you’d need to move there

From a similar KOMO News article on the bill. A couple of quotes tell you what the Washington State loons are up to:
quote:

Proponents of the bill say it guarantees students' rights to safety and privacy, allowing them to share sensitive information, such as gender identity or sexual orientation, without fear of being "outed" to their families.
quote:

The young people in our schools deserve a place where they can be seen and acknowledged in their full selves and experience a full curriculum," the bill's sponsor, State Representative Monica Jurado Stonier of Vancouver, said.

How is that not considered a cover up. I want to know to have the police gather evidence.

So while at school the state owns the children? Doesn’t that go against the 13th amendment?

No idea. I friend sent me the announcement. Its pretty long.

quote:

Beginning June 1, adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 will be able to access their own medical information through MyChart. This change is designed to help adolescents engage more actively in their own health care, build trust with their providers, and manage their health confidently. To support adolescent privacy, parents and guardians with proxy access will experience changes in what information they can view.

What is changing?

Patients ages 12–17 can now be granted access to their own MyChart account.

Proxy access for parents/guardians will automatically transition to a “limited proxy” level on the child’s 12th birthday.

Certain sensitive information, such as provider notes, questionnaires and sensitive test results, will not be visible to proxies to protect adolescent confidentiality.

Who does this affect?

Adolescent patients ages 12–17

Parents/guardians who currently have proxy access to these patients’ MyChart accounts

How does this affect me?

Proxy access will change when a child turns 12:

Parents/Guardians will be automatically moved to a Limited Proxy role.

Access will include: test results, after-visit summaries (AVS), health summaries, medications, messaging, scheduling and past visits.

Parents/Guardians will no longer see sensitive content like provider notes or certain questionnaires and results.

If your patient is between 12 and 17 years old:

At age 12:

Patients are eligible to request their own MyChart account through our staff.

Patients cannot self-sign up online.

At ages 15–17:

Patients may either request access from staff or use the self-sign-up feature on the MyChart website.

All clinical staff and front desk or scheduling team members are able to assist adolescents with MyChart sign-up during their clinic visit. Please ensure the patient’s contact information is accurate and up to date before initiating account setup.

Proxy Access Summary

Adolescent Account (Ages 12–17)

Access includes notes, sensitive test results, test results, AVS, health summaries, medications, messaging, scheduling, past visits, questionnaires.

Limited Proxy (Automatic transition at age 12)

Access includes test results, AVS, health summaries, medications, messaging, scheduling and past visits.

Does not include sensitive notes or results.

Restricted Proxy (Available for ages 15–17, if appropriate)

Access includes test results, messaging, scheduling and past visits.

Proxies of adolescents who may be unable to manage their own care should use the diminished capacity proxy class so that they retain full access to health information and this access does not change when the adolescent turns 12 or 18.

Who would stay there? Home schooling, then move away.
