Why are the democrats making these people sleep in the street like rats ? I thought they cared about the poor.

There are parts of Austin that were looking worse than that. They are slowly clearing it out. But they are making “camp ground areas” in each district throughout the city that is currently empty city controlled land.

New neighbors are moving from the Seattle area, and they say that the parks they frequented pre-COVID are overrun with homeless druggies. Dirty needles and garbage is strewn across playgrounds and other park areas. I would imagine most of the west coast to look similarly. Such a shame.

And think, Austin aint even in the top 50 of homeless so take what you see there and realize its much worse other places.

More than half of all people experiencing homelessness in the U.S. last year were in just four states: California (28% or 161,548 people), New York (16% or 91,271 people), Florida (5% or 27,487 people), and Texas (5% or 27,229). California is also particularly notable as accounting for more than half of all unsheltered homeless people in the entire country at 51% or 113,660. That's nearly nine times the number in the next highest state which is Texas with 13,212. On a single night in January 2020, slightly more than half of all Americans experiencing homelessness were in one of the country's 50 largest cities with one out of every four people experiencing it in either New York City or Los Angeles

Seems like COVID would have wiped them out. Kinda makes you wonder doesn’t it.
