Wales has announced that all non-essential businesses will be shut down for two weeks and everyone will be required to stay at home. Meanwhile, Ireland has limited travel to just 3 miles for six weeks. If Biden wins...expect similar measures to come to the United States early next year.

Stay at home for 2 weeks will surely stop this spread

Yeah, our UK trip for Spring will probably have to be moved. First time going to the UK. We were looking forward to it.

Better question is, is Biden and science smart enough to know this doesn't work in most of this country...

I am assuming they are limiting people from using the shutdown as a vacation... just a guess... kinda like the governor not allowing folks to travel to their lake houses...

Isn’t the incubation period 10-14 days? Seems like this won’t do a whole lot.

Was planning on going to Ireland in April and Greece around Memorial Day, those will probably be postponed (the latter already was from September).

I don’t want to visit Australia, New Zealand, or the UK ever again. Their restrictions have been draconian to a dictatorship level.

Many do not realize that if they do get there and things are locked down again, they could very well be stuck with no way back...

asking for a friend.

if the entire world shut down for three weeks and everyone was compliant, wouldn't this completely stop the corona virus, as well as any other infectious diseases?

possible but it would kill millions, like really kill millions if you shut the entire world down for three weeks...

very few in this country are prepared to hunker down in their home for 3 weeks... most of the rest of the world cannot hunker down in their home for 1 week...

you sell two weeks to prevent a massive public backlash then extend the shutdowns indefinitely with no real plan to end them.

People will not go back into lockdown... It does not matter who wins the election. There is massive distrust between the public and government officials. Long open-ended restrictions do not work.

The end of what?

99% of people will abide by that, and a few outliers wouldn't and nothing would happen, much less "the end"

Crazy!! It's almost like a virus that has rapidly spread across the entire world can't be eradicated by having people stay inside for two weeks.

I'm shocked!

Victoria Australia: you can leave the house once a day only for specific reasons, and not outside a certain km radius of your home m. No mask in public for medical reasons? Where’s your proof of this illness?

I believe it was last week some scientists were claiming the virus is active for up to four weeks on some surfaces.
