Why is this not a topic anymore? Studies show that this is an issue.

Get back to me when violent crime isn't 60% lower than it was before these games were invented.

Why don't we blame killers for killing and stop trying to blame inanimate objects that don't force millions of others into murder?

I've played violent video games since the 90s. I don't have and haven't had an urge to go kill someone.

eta: actually looked at the article. C'mon. Hollywood, YouTube, LiveLeak, etc could easily be put more to blame than video games in today's age.

Many believe that violent videos are no big deal, but I have always believed it plays a big part with a percentage of people.

That has more to do with crack not being as prevalent as it was.

In the 60's, it was the Beatles and Helter Skelter. In the 80's, it was Judas Priest. In the 90's, it was Marilyn Manson and Mortal Kombat. There's always a convenient excuse to try and siphon blame away from the people who deserve it or to use government regulation to engineer a society that mirrors their own moral compass.

No, I'm going to get back to you now. That has no connection to what I just stated.

“Violent crime” is inversely related to poverty, and it’s not the issue here. It’s nutjobs that are isolated from society and go crazy without anyone doing anything to help them.

That isolation and atomization is a new thing. We will probably ban AR-15s in an attempt to stop them (though of course for leftists it will really be to de-fang the people), but it won’t stop. It will accelerate as society continues to fall apart.

And you’re being willfully obtuse if you don’t think that realistic, violent, murderous role play is a part of what enables these people to go out in real life and act in a way that humans have never acted before.

Do you think that the availability of any type of porn you want at your fingertips affects anything? Because rape has plummeted in the era of internet porn.

Also, the bolded is almost certainly not true. This is no more or less barbaric than the myriad forms of barbarity which humans have always committed.
