My thoughts, He listened in on the call and said this a-hole (Trump) is going to frick everyone in Washington out of our ability to hand out money at will on both sides. He was told (IF YOU SEE OR HEAR SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING), just like all the other good ole boys up in Washington were told to do.

The correct thing for a commissioned officer to do is to follow the chain of command when raising concerns. It appears he did that.

Ukraine is at the forefront of a battle against communism. Russia literally tried to take it over a couple of years ago. Communist Oil money flows through there and gets washed.

Possibly.

Like I said, I’m very interested in Yorktown’s 6 month supplemental FARA disclosure. If there is an up-tick in meetings with Vindman in Aug-Oct, I’m inclined to believe there’s something there. AFAIK, Vindman doesn’t know shite from shinola about the energy sector. At least, I can’t find anything written about it. Interesting that they would claim their contact with him was not security related, rather about energy.

Even under incredibly stressful circumstances. He is a Patriot in every sense. His testimony is even pretty guarded regarding Trump, you would think he could avoid the swift boating.

It’s interesting that you are so praiseworthy of mueller and these Ukraine figures as stewards of the republic who are protecting our institutions from corruption, yet you are so dismissive of John Durham and his team for pursuing similar potential corruption in our vital intelligence services

I'd like to know more about this. Do they routinely "advise" foreign government officials unilaterally, or is there usually a group or committee that discusses things together?

It's possible (maybe even probable) that this is correct, but the media is so bad that it makes me question why they're pushing this line so hard. Tapper was tweeting about Vindman's shrapnel yesterday; they usually only do those types of things when they have an agenda to push.

The right thing for Vindman, or any actively serving officer to do in this situation, is to stay completely out of what is clearly a partisan political battle. That’s how a commissioned officer maintains his proper non-political role.
It seems to me that our military serve the United States as a whole, not the executive branch or the legislative branch. It also seems, however, that military personnel would have the same duties of candor vis-à-vis all three branches of the government that they serve.

From another thread

he is a career military technocrat with expertise in Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe. He is on temporary assignment to the NSA.

And you people call him “Deep State.”. Serve your country and gain some expertise. By that definition, the entire officer corps is “Deep State.” Good Lord, you people are literally insane.

I personally don't think this guy matters. He gave his testimony and it was leaked by the piece of shite Schiff. Even what was leaked is not a big deal. If this guy would have testified there was a QPQ, then I guarantee you it would be out there. He is simply another clown in the dem's circus.

As a nation with a large immigrant population, dual loyalties are an issue.

Zbigniew Brzezinski used American power to pursue his grudge against the Soviets, and then later the Russians. During the Cold War, our interests overlapped with his, once the wall fell they did not.

Madeline Albright was the same way.

Remember the Mueller investigation? Ole Honest Bob was gonna get Trump for taking a $150,000 speaking fee from Viktor Pinchuk, a Ukrainian no less. Meanwhile, they completely ignored the fact that John Kerry also spoke at Pinchuk’s event and that Pinchuk is much more closely bound to the Clintons than he ever was Trump.
I'm pretty sure Mueller looked into this because Michael Cohen solicited Doug Schoen about this donation, since Schoen lobbied for Pinchuk

Which had what to do with Russia?

It's no secret that Schoen is owned by Pinchuk. If the impetus for him investigating it was that the president had received foreign money before his presidency from a UKRAINIAN, it seems way out of the scope of the SC. Then again, based on his testimony, there was an awful lot outside of Mueller's scope when it came to Russia; but very little when it came to Trump associates.

For reference, here's a LIST of speakers at the 2017 YES conference. Some very familiar names there: Gates, Kerry, Gingrich, Krugman, and Volker.

It’s a problem. Your hand waiving aside.

I would bar dual nationals from service, that would at least mitigate the most serious issues.
