Another “So fricking What?” comment.

3 years after the pandemic, the data is in. The lockdowns did not work. The states that stayed open fared as well or even better than the states that stayed locked down.

shite. Noem entered the race and I didn’t even realize it.

When did she announce?

Really? Definitely worth considering. I didn't know either.

I’m sure she will be trashed as a Trumpist now.

Bottom line is. The covid restrictions were bullshite and Trump fricked up and Ron fricked up. I was just pointing out that DeSantis wasn’t a saint in all of this. The guy should be vetted separately from Trump.

Couldn't even admit to Hannity that appointing Wray was a mistake

Probably helped that SD is one of the least densely populated states and RI is near the top

Certainly many of the states that suffered the highest death rates were in highly populated states. Yet regardless of population density, those states that implemented stricter lockdown policies at the height of the pandemic had more COVID-1984 deaths per 100,000 people than those states that stayed open or reopened earlier.

Despite his early missteps, DeSantis made a course correction and returned to normalcy long before the large and densely populated states of New York and New Jersey. And Florida, not coincidentally, suffered a significantly lower death rate than those two states during the height of the pandemic.

South Dakota has around double the population of Miami…. It shouldn’t be hard to see how a virus such as COVID (coughing, close contact, ect.) is spread in a densely populated area as opposed to a very sparely populated state

Noem certainly was great during the COVID-1984 pandemic. Indeed, she is one of the best governors in that regard.

Yet Noem has repeatedly displayed wobbly knees on the “trans” insanity. DeSantis, of course, has been a standard bearer in placing the protection of children and girl’s sports as a top priority of his administration.

And of course Trump is what he is — I believe everyone here but a handful of his most devoted fans readily admit Trump has warts. The point here is there are no saints in our wholly corrupted political environment.

Why do you hate the FBI but not corrupt local cops? I hate both. Local cops did all off the thuggary for politicians during the covid shutdowns.

OK. Now compare New York to Florida.

They have a K-12 ban, they have a trans sports ban and they just banned surgical and non surgical gender affirming treatments for minors. What are you talking about? We have none of that here in Louisiana.

Do better.

Desantis is the best option.

You will come around.

In March of 2021, Noem issued a “style & form” veto of a “trans” sports bill over her ostensible concern of financial fallout and lawsuits that would stem from signing such a bill:

Noem stuns supporters by sending back bill to bar transgender athletes from women’s sports….

A near identical bill was passed in 2022 only after Noem made a course correction after tremendous political pressure by South Dakota citizens outraged over Noem’s veto.

It later was revealed that one of Noem’s top advisors was a majority owner in a sports arena that sought to attract NCCA tournaments while another adviser was a lobbyist for a healthcare conglomerate that profited off “transgender” treatments for minors.

The establishment have been handling Ron for quite some time. He couldn't turn them down. They probably told Casey which drapes & rug to choose in the Oval.

I remember that. She implemented executive orders to the same effect until the legislature could do the work but they tried overriding the veto and failed. Regardless, that is one dam good governor.

They have every bill under the sun against transgender, they have constitutional carry, 2A sanctuary. Great state. Florida has yet to get open carry.
