That's my theory about it too. Too much weight causing the barrel to tilt too much. Tho I'm not discounting the issue with pressure. Or not enough oomph in the rounds to cycle it.
It could have been an issue with the recoil spring/s, as well.
Just to mention it off topic. While most semi pistols are blowback design. There's others on the market that aren't. While very obviously not what was used here, the desert eagle uses a gas system. Can't think of the particular ones, but seen vids of 9 mils with reduction systems.

You don't have to be an expert to use common sense. A pro is typically not going to pick a well lit area to work in. A pro is typically going to have his shite together with his tools. A pro is typically not going to shoot someone in the leg with his first shot. A pro is typically going to leave very little evidence. A pro is almost certainly not going to stroll into the local Starbucks for a cup of joe before he smokes someone.
