Because the suppressed round wouldn't generate enough gas to cycle the slide.

But didn't look like he had gloves on. Probably gonna find that gunman dead in a couple days.

Hi-Point jam-o-matic has more kills than any other firearm.

Can't tell what the pistol was from the vid, but it definitely was not a big, blocky Hi-Point.
They do have high kill and arrest count tho. Very popular as a cheap piece, truck gun, or disposable heat.
Low ammo capacity, but heavy weight. You can literally crack somebody's skull with one after you run out of shots.

They will never catch this guy. This is some grassy knoll shite.

Probably knew the camera was there as well.

Well, that makes this simple. Obviously amateur hour on the streets

Didn't appear to have on gloves. Fingerprints on casings and dropped rounds.

They will follow his route with cameras. Kind of like they did with the pipe bomb guy on Jan 6.

If he was hired, he won't be alive much longer.

How many amateurs use silencers on their guns?

Off topic from the case in point... But solvent traps became really popular for people that can't afford a real suppressor, and/or didn't want to leave the federal papertrail.
Street level hits have seen those used. However, a higher paid hitter wouldn't want something with such poor baffling, and therefore crap decibel reduction.

Maybe subsonic ammo and/or suppressor causing jams. It happens.

If you think pro killers can’t look like chumps you haven’t seen enough hardened killers.

His hand look as white as his shoes. I'm not sure he wasn't wearing white latex gloves.

Also, for prints to be on the casings he would have to not wear gloves when he originally loaded it. Wearing gloves during the crime has no bearing on prints on the casings. Now powder residue on your hands and prints on the gun would be a reason to wear gloves during the shooting.

Subsonic & blowback. Not if it has cycling issues, but when it has cycling issues.

Whether he was a pro, or has killed before, who knows, but he definitely knows how to handle that particular firearm & load with confidence.

Think dude is from Georgia. No way family went to the streets of Manhattan to handle family beef.

Seems like it to me. Lots of people here seem to think it was a high level execution. I'm just not seeing it.

Vid was just removed from Twitter. Like while I was reading replies.

Edit- disregard. Later replies shows it was a 9mil. Not a .22.
I'm not disagreeing with the theories of underpowered subsonic, or gas problems from the suppressor.
Throwing another theory out there tho.
Many .22 cal semi autos have a stationary barrel. Bolted down, into the frame. But some of the newer ones use the Browning type floating barrel.
That seemed like a really long suppressor.
Perhaps the weight of the suppressor was tilting a floating barrel, and misaligning the chamber, and causing the failure to eject?

No gloves. What a moron

His prints are forever flagged

Plastic gloves would have prevented prints. And retained a higher degree of dexterity and sensitivity.
Vid quality wasn't good enough for me to see if he was wearing them or not.

As far as forever flagged. That's if any evidence is ever found.

Let's address some stuff in here.

I'm no expert but I have several silencers and shoot them often.

I don't know what kind of gun he has so let's start with the overwhelming majority of people saying it's a .22 lr.

"He's shooting sub out of a semi": All .22LR are subsonic out of a pistol save for a few with longer 12"+ barrels.
He may have tried sub sonic .22 rounds but why if he's a professional as half here claim.

A silencer makes a pistol less reliable. This is false. Now, if you are shooting a centerfire round 9mm, 10mm, .45 etc. in a semi auto, then most likely you have an action where the barrel tilts up as the slide moves backwards. If you have a semi like this, you need a booster (piston and spring) for reliable functioning. If you're using a piston, then the gun will be extremely reliable unless it's just a huge piece of shite.

There are sub sonic 9mm rounds (147 gr), they are absolutely reliable. All .45 acp rounds are subsonic unless you have some specialty round (extremely light frangible bullet).

The gun is a B&T VP9. I don't think it is. With a VP9 or Six-45 or whatever, it's a bolt action type action. Meaning you pull the bolt to the back and push it back forward and you have to turn the bolt to release. This guy is pulling the action back and releasing the slide is what it looks like to me,

Lastly, I know Johnson was shot in the leg based on reporting. The first shot, Johnson starts moving like something hit him in the leg. Pretty sure that was the 1st shot.

My thinking is this guy had family that died after getting denied a claim. Guy probably either didn't have a booster assembly or built a silencer out of a solvent trap and put it on a semi with a tilting barrel and sought revenge..

According to the police video, it was a 9mm. Three spent casings and 3 rounds were left at the scene. Occam says it was most likely the suppressor causing cycling problems. Pretty common. You can't just screw a suppressor onto anything and have it work correctly. But we have people here impressed with his ability to rack the slide to clear a jam, so

Not impressed, just noting that to do that in the moment when killing someone takes muscle memory. Not even saying that he's killed other people, just that he is familiar enough with firearms to not be a novice.

It was an execution. High level or professional? Definitely not.

You would have tested the gun to know exactly how it reacted with the suppressor.
