Sometimes obvious, absurd, events have to occur for the bozos who live in the land of make-believe and vapid virtue signaling understand what us rational people knew was going to be the result all along.
It is even better this is happening in one of the bastions of liberalism and irrational thinking...the Ivy League.

Both my daughters are competitive swimmers so I am plugged into the sport more than the average person. One of the national swim publications did an interview and feature on it last week and the comments section was a war zone.
Something is going to have to be done at the administrative level. A college coach told me that everyone is watching to see how this plays out - if he ends up winning a national title, you are going to see this explode in swimming. I've already told my daughters if they are ever at an event and are in a heat with a man pretending to be a woman (sometimes there are truly mixed events), then they will scratch. Its unlikely to happen on our Mississippi/Louisiana circuit, but I think we will see it at sectional level meets if this crap is allowed to continue.

could they pretend like they are competing, then stand there when the whistle is blown, turn around and defecate into said pool during meet?

That would be the best option. Easy to do in club swimming - but I get these college girls. They are on scholarship and they don't want to lose it. Harder for them to make that decision.
Not trying to paint with a broad brush, but male swimmers are more likely to be willing to pull this off than say, male basketball players. It won't be hundreds, but it would only take 8-10 others to pull this stunt and a female would never see the podium in swimming again.
