Maybe he put a bullet in his head before he had the bomb was set to go off. He is an amateur bomb maker who doesn't know how his device will go. If it only causes a fire, burning to death stuck in a car is not a really fun way to go. I can't think of too many worse ways to spend your last few moments on earth.

Why?
Guy blows up a truck and has a shot to the head with the weapon located next to his body. Why assume anything other than he killed himself after triggering the device?

Twice last month, someone pretending to be a Green Beret from my former Operation Detachment Alpha's (ODA) sister-team contacted me, and showed extensive knowledge of personal information about the Green Beret they claimed to be (who is still on active duty).
The person who contacted me claimed to be suicidal, likely in an attempt to get me to SWAT "his" house with either police or Green Berets to make sure he was OK. This would have given away his location if it was not already known.
Matt Livelsberger served on the same ODA and held the same position as the person who was impersonated.
A lot is not adding up about this situation in Vegas.

Had to. Autopilot isn't fully auto yet. You still have to maintain forward head/eye position almost constantly. Any sideways movement is noted and if it continues you get disconnected from autopilot within seconds.

The car is on camera. If he drove there and then shot himself, there should be video showing a muzzle flash from inside the vehicle. We have video of the car exploding, so all it should take is to rewind that footage. It would be easy to put this to rest. Until that happens, though, we can't rule out the patsy angle.
