Sorry, but I don’t want Amberlynn a 19 year old meth head watching my kids. I want someone who is certified in early child development to make sure my kids are properly learning and growing.

Cool. Then pay for it and shut the frick up.

I feel sorry for your kids who has a father that is so gullible to believe that tampons are being put in boys bathrooms.

May 15, 2023

Two years ago the California State Legislature overwhelmingly approved the bi-partisan Menstrual Equity for All Act mandating the placement of feminine hygiene products into public school bathrooms, grades 6 through 12, including in at least one male restroom per school. The bill, which went into effect this year, is still making news with conservative pundits and politicians making fun of California’s craziness.

But it seems the state legislature isn’t done. This year, Assembly Majority Leader Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino), is doubling down on the insanity and introduced AB 230, a bill requiring menstrual products in girls’ and boys’ bathrooms starting in the third grade.

The bill is sponsored by the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council in Redlands, CA. It shouldn’t be surprising this “girls” organization would promote the idea that some boys menstruate. The Girl Scout headquarters encourages each scout troop to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month. According to a recommended activity flier, troop members learn that gender or sex has nothing to do with biology. “Transgender or Trans: When your gender identity (how you feel) is different than what doctors/midwives assigned to you when you were born (girl/boy or sex assigned at birth),” states the flier.

This year the San Gorgonio troop plans to celebrate LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) Pride Month on June 10th by inviting a “local Drag Queen [to] host bingo games with the chance of winning prizes.”

A San Diego parent in the Poway Unified School District, Phil Kendro, tried to demonstrate the absurdity of giving boys feminine products recently by posting a picture of a tampon machine mounted on a wall next to a boy’s urinal. The picture was taken by his 13-year-old son.

“I think it’s crazy and unbelievable that they would put a tampon and pad dispenser in the boys locker room because they should KNOW that boys will be boys and waste them and cause trouble,” the 13-year-old male Bernardo Heights student, told the American Spectator.

“My son told us about the tampon dispenser because he was surprised to see it in the boys restroom, and I asked him to take a photo for us,” said Phil Kendro, the 13-year-old’s father. “Originally, he didn’t want to because he was told by a staffer that they shouldn’t take photos. But I told him there’s nothing in school that should be hidden from us parents.”

Once again, Vance is full of shite

Vance wants to rejuvenate civil society through a return to traditional social structures like family and church, etc. This is an intellectually viable idea in light of the pandemic-era death of the "civil religion" that has undergirded civil society since WW2 and enabled a considerable degree of geographic and economic mobility in the pursuit of unfettered individualism.

Child care infrastructure was clearly an important part of the civil religion. Hard to up and leave your family in Texas for greener pastures in California if there's nobody there to watch your kids.

The problem, as you so succintly put it, is that Boomers grew up benefitting from the civil religion (they are the generation that has benefitted the most), and do not acknowledge that they received any benefits of owe anything to anybody.

In short, Boomers are selfish, entitled fricking assholes who do not want to help out at all. Hell, they barely wanted to watch their own kids. Most want to drop in and out and be the "cool grandparents" who do fun things with the kids. They ain't changing poopy diapers and dealing with temper tantrums, I can tell you that from experience.

So .... it's not gonna work, JD.

No all problems can be solved by government and trying to use government to solve all problems just creates more problems.

No one said that's wrong. If your family setup works for you, that's great. But you missed the point. The issue is JD Vance offering that as a blanket solution for millions of people who might not have that option or who have clearly already tried that option. It’s condescending to act like the solution to the high cost of childcare is just "ask your parents", as if that's realistic for everyone. We need actual policies to address these problems, not dismissive answers that overlook the bigger picture.

You’ve just described our current national healthcare and education systems. Pretty much everything the government gets involved in results in higher prices.

My grandparents watched me, my siblings, and most of my cousins until we were school aged. My parents have done the same for their grandkids.

Even if day care cost wasn’t a factor, if I had to choose between leaving my infant or toddler with their grandparents or day care workers, I’m picking grandparents every time.

In Minnesota where you all refer to the governor as "Tampon Tim" because you think that he is putting tampons in the boys bathrooms. It's the dishonesty, but you are used to being dishonest because you follow your lord and savior Trump who lies 90% of the time.

My in-laws took care of our children who never spent a minute in daycare. Several women I worked with retired specifically to take care of their grandkids. What's your problem with this? True, not everybody can do it, but it's a reasonable alternative for the high cost of daycare.
