I’ll wait until this Iran thing settles down to cast judgement on this. If this leads to a short term spike with cheaper gas for the next 20 years it’s a win. I refuse to participate in knee-jerk outrage culture.

Maybe. I just don’t want to be the one looking back, whether it’s 2 months or 1 year from now, saying “man, we came out way ahead after all this, I wish I hadn’t have thought that”. But to be fair, I can still see it going either way and all of it being a complete disaster or a net positive.

That is of course correct long term. With the supply of oil we have , risk premiums and sanctions due to Russia and Iran are really the only reason we don't have structural $50 oil and $2 gasoline.

Gas prices are higher than they were before this conflict began. You can’t deny that. There are also no signs of gas prices falling back to pre-conflict levels anytime soon.
But because Trump is President, we’re supposed to pretend that we’re happy with current gas prices.
