We have not yet flushed out all the DEI crew members on board. We need a little more time.

The Ford was at sea for 300 and something days before finally coming home.

The Lincoln can’t just be replaced by any aircraft carrier in the fleet. Not every carrier has underwent the upgrades to carry the F-35. I think it’s the C variant or the Stealth F-35 that causes all the trouble mainly. The engines produce so much heat that they warp the deck and the blast ramp after so long. I can’t remember exactly how they do it but I think it’s a special coating has to be applied to make the areas affected by heat more heat resistant so these areas do not warp. They have typically been doing this as carriers come in for their midlife refueling or if they will have extended downtime. I think they usually resurface the deck and then apply the coating it needs to be more heat resistant. We only have like 5 or 6 carriers as of a few months ago capable of carrying the F-35’s right now. The Washington is one that can. The Ford was built to carry and operate theF35 but delays in theF35 program meant the Ford started out without them. Later they find out about this problem with the heat and the decks warping so the Ford can’t carry them right now for that reason.

Could you image the outrage if they had to take a dump in a cut off 55 gallon drum like in a port a potty, then some poor E1 or E2 had to pour gas into the pile of crap and set it on fire and stir the burning shite with an oar or something..

Back in the day this is how it was done….

The gallon of beer a day is important, but these guys worked off the 5000 daily calorie intake…..

It can carry the F-35. It’s been several months since I found all that info but I’m pretty sure the Washington has been upgraded.

Sitting in a porta john during a summer mid day in Iraq/Kuwait/UAE/Saudi Arabia should have had some kind of service award implemented.

We used old MRE boxes with a plastic trash liner for the deuce firing sequence. Can set up in the shade. 100% recommend.

How about anyone part of the ground invasions of Iraq or Afghanistan didn't have access to phone centers, showers, computers, hot meals (non mre) etc for almost 4 months in Iraq before FOBs and unit AORs were established. Not sure what things looked like in Afghanistan but it could not have been better.

I've said this a few times over the years, but frick, the current Navy is so fricking soft, under trained, and just plain embarrassing.

This is not my Navy.

My son-in-law is on a destroyer and he told my daughter back in the spring or maybe early summer that some guys did jump and his boat picked up a couple of them
He deployed in January and was supposed to be back beginning of August and told her a few weeks ago that they were being extended and it may be Dec before they are back.

yup. my brother was in the corps in the desert. said he woulda loved to been with my BIL on a navy ship.

sailors have a toilet, shower, bed, and meals/hot meals not just mRE's.

whilst those stuck in the desert had no shower, toilet, they dug a cathole and took a dump in there then covered it back up with sand. lucky to have MRE's you liked. and on and on.

are they telling me that carrier has not been re supplied? that is complete BS.

If only there was some way that photos or videos of the alleged conditions could be sent instead of just double hearsay.

Yep. Imagine conducting ops all day trying to subdue a freshly invaded opposition country and at night you have to dig slit trenches, set ops and security in a hasty AA to pack it all up and do it again 10 klicks up the road the next day or two.

Im sorry to the sailors and their mothers but suck it the frick up.

I need to know what exactly qualifies as an "attempt" to jump overboard. You either do or you don't, it's not difficult.

Not only that, but what man would want to jump off a US ship and have the possibility being picked up by ANYONE other than the USA?
