It’s just a news story that is being discussed. The people who are all upset are the ones who don’t want the issue acknowledged.
I’ve heard of Master and Commander, saw some of it on a flight once. I watched Midway the other day. That was pretty good.

This reminds me of the story from several years ago about how the Bloods/Crips had infiltrated the navy and were tossing rival gang members overboard. And that there were “no go” zones below deck that officers avoided at certain times. That story was bullshite just like this current one is.

My time was in the Army so I have no point of reference on this one. Our unit deployed for 12 months a couple of times and pushed to 15 once. What was the longest time your ship was at sea?

The Sailors aboard the Lincoln are doing what American warriors have always done: remaining resilient, focused on the mission, and proud of their service on this historic deployment.
We stand with them.

The disconnect here is that you have no frame of reference for what living onboard a deployed carrier at sea is like. You also have no clue about how carrier operations are conducted.

You can’t compare 2 completely different services. For example, one of my cruises was 7.5 months however in the year prior to deployment I was gone to either other land bases or ship for “workups”. You will go here for 3 weeks and there for 2 weeks and here for a month to prepare for the cruise.
The complete cruise cycle is over 1.5 years long. The workups to me were harder than cruise because you are only sending smaller groups meaning you have to do many jobs to cover those not there. I was always thankful once cruise started as you knew that was last 1/3rd of cycle and you could catch up on sleep. I worked 14 hours per day Mon-Sun deployed. 12 hour shifts but an hour prior and after for passdown (aircraft squadron).
