Tell them your dog is acting like a petulant child and hasn’t decided it’s sex... somewhere on the spectrum!

And then flip the question back to them.

Have you idiots decided what sex you are?

The dog doesn't care what word you use as long as you give it a pet and a treat.

I have only one dog. She is a (insert breed of dog).

I’d almost rather these dipshits make up a pronoun than mutilate our language any further. “They” is grammatically incorrect and incorrect diction when referring to a singular canine. Or human.

With mine I'd say "even though his balls are gone, he's still a male"

"They're one dogs" would be my ridiculous answer to that ridiculous question.

Why are you interested in my dog’s sex?

Are you a teenager? They are just being respectful. Y’all complain about kids not having manners then when kids show some, you “come up with a good smart arse reply.”

This is definitely one of those moments when people are trying to find something that's not there.

Maybe it's a Georgia thing or whatever, but I've heard people use "they" when referring to a single dog my entire 34-year life. It's not a new-wave progressivism thing that's just now starting to happen.

Beyond the gender crap, is this part of moving more towards plural pronouns rather than singular pronouns? Taking the "I" out of society? Seems I remember this from something.

If they ask "what gender are they"

say "I only have one dog"

Make them as confused as the question.

I say the same thing to individual people who ask to be referenced in the plural.

“No disrespect, but I only see one of you, and we are speaking English. Your choices are ‘he, she or it.’ I will respect your choice among those options.”

They're being respectful to dogs? I bet your dog gets offended when folks address zhim / zher with the wrong pronoun.

I really could see you saying that.
