Providing generalized support to one belligerent nation directly invites action against our armed forces as they immediately become legitimate military targets at that point.

This helps us gain experience in shooting down drones and other air assets. The stories of the F-15s gunning down drones is already legendary as far as 21st century air warfare. I’m all for it.

Mitigating the damage to Israel by helping intercept incoming missiles and drones. The more that gets through hitting civilian targets the more likely Israel is to escalate their retaliation to those attacks.
Iran had the option to accept a peace deal with no nukes and no sanctions. Trump had his team directly negotiating with Iran.

I’m not a citizen of Israel and their wars aren’t my wars.
I support their right to self defense and wish them well against a terror sponsor in Iran.
I simply don’t want our (American) armed forces actively involved in any war against them.

Trump explicitly drew a red line re “no nukes “ for Iran. The IDF are going to do to to the Jihadist in Iran what they did to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Pound them daily until they go away.
