I thought the worst part was the poverty, government corruption and an extremely high murder rate due to being a narcotics trade crossroads. Shows what I know.

When I moved here 25 years ago the owner of Pepsi Americas asked the VP of the Caribbean if I would be okay since I had not lived abroad. The VP said "a lot of crime, people party at the drop of a hat, carnival is huge, and everyone is corrupt.......you do realize Trini is moving from New Orleans, its kind of like crossing the street"
