Best thing I read all day

Why are Democrats freaking out if it takes a few days to choose a speaker of the house?

It takes like a month to count the votes for members of the House.

This process is the definition of insanity. Announce an official tally and in the next breath recognize someone that is making the first nomination for the next round of voting. Take an hour break or something between votes to allow for some negotiations.

Let’s see how many officially vote for Trump.

Same as every other round today.

Gaetz just wanted to have Trump’s face plastered on the tally screen.

I imagine some are Triggered.

Is Donalds in the 'others' column now?

Yes. Those others are for Donalds.

Even if McCarthy agrees to the 20’s demands, what stops him from reneging on those agreements like the Democrats continuously do to Manchin in the Senate?

The SOTH re-vote thing?

The whole single motion to start a vote to remove the Speaker is silly. It would fail and if the Gaetz crowd tried it again McCarthy would change the rule with full support.

You also have to factor in the no shows. Someone is leaving for doctor appointment and won't be available tonight or tomorrow, think it's a McCarthy voter. Someone's wife had a baby and another's mother recently passed and her funeral is this weekend.

As soon as they place the vote most of them go back and negotiate.
