It seems to me this is a much more interesting "story" to play as a straight story in covering all sides versus one in which a news organization would "pick a side" and run with that non-stop, but maybe that's just me.

Crenshaw says that Byron can't be SOTH because he didn't raise millions of dollars to win the majority. Tells me that Kevin has been bought and paid for.
One of Paul Ryan's conditions was that he has young kids and will not constantly travel raising money. Paul Ryan also wanted it in writing they would never remove him. (He knew he was a fraud and was preventing the backlash from the tea party/HFC)
The Chamber of Commerce funds them. The fundraisers are a formality to wear a black tie and show off your spouses bow tie or gown.

Forgive my ignorance on this, I haven’t been able to follow live, but are the democrats voting at the same time? What’s to stop 15 or so Dems voting for McCarthy and pushing him over the edge and undermining the republicans who also vote for him but wouldn’t if he was backed by the Dems? They would still have Jeffries as minority leader.
