I think the US is looking at the equivalent of a very bad flu season coming up with 3-7 times as many fatalities vs the average flu season
So, you think there's going to be between 150,000 and 500,000 deaths in the U.S. from COVID-19 this year?

I'm going to take the "under" on that...

So 330,000,000 people 317 cases. 15 (old people with respiratory problems to begin with?) died.

Is that a big deal?

Didn't you just get pissy with me because I said you thought that because the numbers are low right now that that meant this isn't a big deal?

Then immediately after you argue that because the numbers are low it's not a big deal?

You're either a troll or have an IQ below 85.

No, your math is off.

Flu killed 34,000 last year.

3x that would be 102,000.
7x would be 238,000.

Sure lots of retards are pretending that anyone suggesting this is worse than the common flu must think that there are piles of dead bodies in the str....

Oh wait.

Don't drink anything under the sink and take an IQ test.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I understand some people are offended by facts and observable reality, but you don't have to get so pissy.

No, your math is off.
I googled "How many Americans die from the flu each year?" and this is the link that resulted:
quote:

The CDC estimates that as many as 56,000 people die from the flu or flu-like illness each year. SOURCES: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases: "Common Cold."
LINK

My math was based on that.
quote:

3x that would be 102,000.
7x would be 238,000.
Okay, so if you believe between 102,000 and 238,000 Americans are going to die from COVID-19 this year, I'll still take the under.

So using your math, what is your estimate of deaths in the US from Corona?
Ballpark.

A small fraction of the actual cases are identified. Close to, if not 100% of the deaths due to Corona are identied. So it's not 17 out of 343, it's 17 out of, "who the hell knows".

102,000-238,000 people is my ballpark guess.

What is yours?

That explains nothing.

You're conflating what is being argued with the motivation for making that argument?

Surely you're intelligent enough to know the difference??

Source? We're experiencing a shortage of test kits so its hard to get accurate numbers of anything at this time.

Perhaps an autopsy could reveal it, but I doubt everyone who's died from some sort of respiratory illness in the last 6-8 weeks is currently undergoing an autopsy.
