I think interest on the debt has a lot to do with the deficit. Only way to combat this is for the FED to get off the high horse and let the economy inflate naturally with a huge rate cut and I know that it may hurt some people with old money that live on interest alone, but at this point it may be our only option.

Yes, that.

Or cut spending.

Every president since Reagan has had huge deficits.Congress is a much to blame as anyone.I will admit it’s going to blow up one day and it will effect the whole world and create a global depression. As voters we continue to elect the same clowns every cycle that have created this. Its all on the voters.

DOGE actually helped.

How do you know? The only reports we had about DOGE are their tweets with pictures of their own napkin math.

DOGE’s claim of $110B in savings was vastly inflated and riddled with errors

Heeeeere we go...

No... If you thought the incompetent, corrupt do-nothing uniparty establishment shills in Congress were going to fix our complex financial woest by enacting sensible policy and cuts recommended by Elon Musk and DOGE, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

They do not have "complete control," nerd. They have a majority... but there are still Democrat votes required to pass legislation, along with the votes of the cabal of never-Trumper RINO phonies that blatantly chose to obstruct Trump this term, rather than work with him. Trump and the Republicans do not have "complete control."

It's way more like math than a manufactured narrative.

Nope.

The problem is that people are mathematically illiterate. They look at only the raw prices—just like you did—without factoring in all the relevant contexts, like inflation for example, or the fact that cars last 3 times longer than they used to, or that houses are 40% bigger, or that the mortgage rate has as much to do with being able to afford a house as the price of the house. When you do, the real picture looks more like this:

When you consider all the factors, the REAL "Affordability Crisis" happened in the 70s and 80s. But we didn't have media creating the news back then, they only reported it, so people didn't realize they were supposed to feel oppressed and taken advantage of and they just went about their days and enjoyed life.

(I'm sure that there were some leftist populists whining back then because the Democratic Party went populist long ago. But it wasn't a universal thing like it is now).

Mostly untrue, a lot of the current spending is previous administration programs coming to life or being funded that weren't prior.

What? We were all one paycheck away from living in an appliance box under an overpass during the early 1980s per the big three news broadcasts.

a box right beside the THREE MILLION HOMELESS THEY WERE CONSTANTLY CROWING ABOUT during the Reagan admin

They only claim 700-800 thousand NOW.

The entire media pushed that lie. Malicious media is not new.

The absolute truth that the left hyped up 3,000,000 homeless in the 80's triggered this?

hahahahahaha

The U.S. is paying roughly $1.0–$1.1 trillion per year in interest on the national debt as of FY2025–FY2026, with FY2025 net interest at $970 billion and FY2026 on track to exceed $1.05 trillion. The interest is half of the deficit by the way.

Here is a thought dumbass - I don't feel compelled to shriek over everything I disagree with Trump about. When did that become the rule?

Step up - be the leftist that tells us what specifically the left will do to improve the deficit. Remember, they want Medicare for all and to bring back all the illegals with benefits, so don't forget to work around those.
