I am just loving every bit of how this is all unfolding. Watch it turn out that the driver is someone who donates their whole salary to underprivileged black kids or something and was heading home from charity work.

When one of the fricks points a laser at an officer, they should become instant kill targets. Enough of this crap. Shoot them.

What a load of crock. These people have to make everything up.

I have a hard time believing that the 1st five rounds are not from the rifle. The report is longer and drawn more out with a deeper echo than the last 3. The last 3 shots are sharper, less echo. I can sense the power of the round in the first 5, not as much in the last 3.
You are correct. The first five shots are from a heavier caliber round. The last 3 from what sounds more like a pistol round.
The scenario of AK guy firing 5 rounds and the driver returning fire is plausible based on the sounds. Expended AK brass would confirm it.
Regardless of whether he fired warning shots or towards the car, he's dead because he was stupid.

On Twitter, Kenneth Casaday, the president of the Austin police officers’ union, retweeted a video clip of Mr. Foster explaining to Mr. Garcia, the independent journalist, why he brought his rifle. In the clip, Mr. Foster is heard using curse words to talk about “all the people that hate us,” but are too afraid to “stop and actually do anything about it.”
In his tweet, Mr. Casaday wrote: “This is the guy that lost his life last night. He was looking for confrontation and he found it.”

Please watch this video. This is the guy that lost his life last night. He was looking for confrontation and he found it. The Feux Mike Ramos Brigade needs to be stopped. The only people out of control during this incident was the Feux Brigade. #Isleofmisfittoys

The media is trying to imply that the driver was charged with a crime, because they want normal people to be hesitant to protect themselves. They are the enemy.

I asked before.
I think coulter's law may be applicable right now. Normally if the driver had been white we would know by now you can bet the news knows if he was white. So why don't we know?

Oh, you know why. He may have been a protestor himself, which would make him even more fearful for his safety, because he knew what to expect.

Except the driver has said the guy with the AK approached and pointed then he (the driver) shot and then another protester fired at the vehicle as it sped away. That doesn't change the justification, but let's just stick to the actual facts and not some unnecessary twitter bullshite.
quote:
Minutes after the shooting, the driver called 911 and said he had been involved in a shooting and had driven away from the scene, Chief Manley said. The caller told dispatchers he had shot someone who had approached the driver’s window and pointed a rifle at him.
“His account is that Mr. Foster pointed the weapon directly at him and he fired his handgun at Mr. Foster,” the chief said of the driver.
Both the driver and the other person who fired a weapon were detained and interviewed by detectives. Both had state-issued handgun licenses and have been released as the investigation continues, Chief Manley said.

In an update on July 26, Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said reports indicated Foster was carrying a rifle when he approached the suspect's vehicle. The suspect then shot out of their car at Foster, according to APD. Manley said that the person who shot Foster called 911 to report that someone had pointed a gun at his vehicle and that he fired at the person pointing the gun. That suspect was detained and cooperating with officers, police said Sunday morning.
The first person, according to Manley, to have fired a weapon in the incident appears to have been driver in the car. Manley said those shots came after the driver said Foster pointed weapon at him.

"And then I turn over and I see his arm just like, extended fully out of the driver's window with the handgun into the crowd. And I watched him make several more shots. I saw the flashes," Sasinowski said.
According to the video sounds and even the journalistic reports, this does not sound right.

Exactly how it should happen. Except, you should shoot them before they aim at you.

had to guess, the recoil shocked Mr. Foster and his first round was his most "accurate" and he missed, leading to successive misses as he doesn't have the time/knowledge/muscle memory to keep the weapon on target.
Had an AK Ive taken to the range for 30 years and I still can't keep those 7.62s on target after the 3rd or 4th round if I'm firing rapidly.
This assclown probably only fired 1 or 2 mags in his life..if that.
He would have been lucky to hit an elephant at point blank range.
How'd that big scary gun work out for you vs a citizen with a pistol who actually knew how to use it?
Muh Hollywood movie AKs.
Sorry I can't seem to work up sympathy for him.

So you can shoot open carry people who are approaching you?

You can’t tell the difference between an ak being fired and a pistol?

Not just for carrying. But for most states there probably is a reasonable person standard for feeling that your life is threatened.
You dont have to wait til they put their finger on the trigger to feel that your life is in danger.
