Protesters forgot they were in Texas. There are still a few Texans in Austin.

This is a great point. Today's antifa types are pretty ignorant of the law if they consider vandalism, verbal abuse and threats, intimidation, or blocking access to public roads "peaceful" protests. Sadly, many do and mayors like the one on Portland don't do much to correct that line of thinking.

First few shots were definitely rifle rounds and outside of the vehicle. It’s possible he aimed at the person in the vehicle then raised the rifle and fired warning shots. The final volley of shots is muffled, likely the pistol rounds fired from inside the vehicle that killed Foster.
It does sound like that, the only other scenario is muzzle direction. A shot fired at you sounds a lot louder than a shot fired away from you. But the tone of the shots leads me to believe the rifle first, pistol second scenario.

UPDATE: Officials believe one shooter was the driver of a car, and the other was in the crowd and may have opened fire on the car as it drove away. The investigation remains fluid, but this is the account police have right now of what happened. Two people who are not Garrett Foster.
Lots of conditionals and qualifiers there.
These protesters are cannon fodder for their organizers. They get wound up and put themselves in ridiculous situations.

People like you make this libertarian crave for someone like Pinochet to torture your arse. You spout off at the mouth about a police state, but you want a massive centralized state to have even more power over the individual than exists now. You claim speech is akin to violence in an attempt to silence your opponents, but then claim that someone approaching another in a vehicle with a brandished weapon is a "peaceful protest". This ain't Portland or Seattle baw. You come at people down South like that, they'll be scraping you and your kind off the pavement.
BASED.

It’ll be really hard to convince me those first 5 shots were that of a pistol from inside a car. The first 5 sound just like an AK. The last 3 sound just like pistol.

It's unfortunate, but historical reality is this. Sometimes, people like Pinochet are CREATED.
Pinochet was bad. Alas, his enemies were worse

You do understand blocking traffic is illegal and therefore does not equal peaceful protest. I'm getting tired of this stupidity. People have been getting away with this for a decade and these idiots therefore think it is legal.
You’re 100% right. Read the comments on Twitter. They believe this guy was a hero. They think pedestrians always have the right of way and can do whatever they want in the street and cars just have to stop.

There comes a point where you have nothing to lose by BECOMING the monster "they" say you are.
We are quickly approaching that point.

This article from 5 hours ago notes nothing about a charge, but that the driver was brought in for quesioning LINK
Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said officers responded to a 911 call where the caller stated they had just shot someone who had approached their car window and pointed a rifle at them
Witnesses told police that Foster approached the car with an AK-47 assault-style rifle while others in the crowd began striking the vehicle.
The driver accused of shooting Foster was brought in by police for questioning, and his handgun and car were secured for evidence, police said, and another person who fired their gun at the car was brought in for questioning. Both had a concealed handgun license and were released pending further investigation.
edit to note that it's important that the driver called the police after shooting the terrorist, which tends to refute the contention that he was trying to get away.
