There is middle ground here. We shouldn't stop seeking it.

Mate, I think you're at the point when you realize those on the other side of the aisle aren't "friendly, agree to disagree folk". And no, that doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist either.

Sigh. I've never been a moderate Republican. My ranting against dishonesty and hyperbole on the right isn't some step on my political journey, it's the end product. I firmly believe that there are good people who are Democrats. But I also question (including in another thread, tonight) whether there is enough in common among factions to ultimately keep this country together.

When one side actively works against personal responsibility in order to create more holes for government to fill, and celebrates that ideology, I am not sure "we're all Americans" means that much. But this isn't about that, this is about the culture of some factions of the left where complete dishonesty is acceptable to deflect from someone battling for their life on account of your (NYT's) rage-mongering.

From noted conservative CHRIS HAYES on the NYT story:

"Let me chime here to say: yeah, that's nuts."

They're claiming a fricking causal link in that paragraph between Loughner and Palin?

Jesus.

It would be one thing to hint, they're outright claiming it and then saying it was more direct than this situation. I'm telling you, it's so fricking bad that you'll see some handwringing by liberal journalists tomorrow. It's that indefensible.

That's absolutely absurd. I've defended the NYT before and previously subscribed (canceled due to too much liberal bias)but the is indefensible. To suggest that the Gifford attack was clearly incited by Palin and yet no incitements existed for this is outrageous.

Not only that, they said the causal link between Laughner and Giffords was STRONGER than the shooting today. Insanity and I haven't seen anyone worth their salt coming to the defense of the NYT.

Updated OP with NYT's correction. Which is still shitty, of course.

Not so much. They know they are lying. They lie on purpose in service of an agenda.

Stop believing that stuff like this is based on naivete and stupidity. They're deliberately lying.
