Update on My Campaign-State Rep, District 95-Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Foley (AL)

4 days until election.
This process is exhausting. Work at my ins agency and general contracting biz from like 5am-1pm, then making calls and attending events from 1pm-whenever at night. Takes its toll.
Anyway, the campaign has a platform that is incredibly well received when heard, and is as follows:
-Term limits. Career politicians have ruined our republic.
-Campaign finance reform. My campaign is accepting no donations. Public office should be about sacrifice, not gain.
-State Lottery. Obv reasons.
-Legalize cannabis. Lotta hate for this one. Roll tide!
-End the ABC Board. Makes liquor in AL so expensive. Doesn't allow for liquor to be delivered to restaurants. Dram shop laws are keeping liquor liability expensive.
-End Grocery Tax. Obv reasons.
Primary is 5/24. Main opponent has raised over $330k for position that pays $50k/yr. My self-financed campaign has spent around $15k. Fun fact: When you spend your own money on campaign expenses, it is not an "expenditure". It is an "in-kind donation". We were fined $2k by the AL Sec of State for this.
Our social media game is killing it. We have a ton of Youtube and Facebook ads. We have hosted a meet and greet at a bar (lotta hate for that as well). My favorite thing is when I hand someone a brochure is they say "Are you Rep or Dem?" I simply respond it shouldn't matter, what do you think about these ideas?
The key to the campaign is turnout. Our district has roughly 18k voters. Expecting turnout around 30%. Need to get roughly 3k votes to prevent a runoff, which is the goal.
Here are some short Youtube videos of the campaign, some of which have been viewed nearly 10k times within our ad range (25 miles out from Gulf Shores):
Reform the ABC Board
Intro to Candidate
Lottery
My entire soul and belief system is in this campaign. It's a campaign of ideas, that the overwhelming majority of us agree on. It's a true David vs Goliath story, and I think we have an outstanding shot.
Holler with any questions about this learning experience!

Damn, bruh.
I read your manifesto. Watched your ad. Was stoked.
Then I saw this:
Now I have to rethink it. Was going to vote for you from here in Minnesota, too. You'd have carried the state.
Just kidding. Kick their arse, Sea Bass.
(My local GOP has asked me twice to run for state office with their endorsement, but I live in WAY too blue of a place for this to be anything but a vanity exercise. Plus, my local GOP has a lot of...issues.

A lot of people start with this, but they see how rich they can become by staying in power and getting reelected over and over becomes their main concern.
Stay the course.

I wish you success in your race and in the battles with the AL GOP (and those behind it) to come if you win.

AL is one of like 8 states that tax food at 4%. Most other states do not. Like most consumption taxes, it hits those in the lowest earning bracket the hardest.

I’ve got a nephew in your district. I think you’ve got a shot at his vote

I need no money, and want no power.
Honestly, I don't want to do this, but I am tired of being governed by our inferiors, and it is time we as a populace step up, otherwise we get the gov't we deserve.

It will be fascinating to watch your transformation once elected.

They have not spoken a word to me, and have blocked me from posting videos on their Facebook pages. Devil's lettuce is a no no for the blue hairs that run this place.

3639 Gulf Shores Pkwy
STE 2
(Hwy 59 heading south)
You'll see the Gadsden flag outside office.
We don't have large signs, but we have a full bar. Stop in for beer or rum. I won't be here, but office will take care of ya!

Not opposed to this but what are you proposing this be replaced by? Increased property taxes or does the lottery replace the grocery tax?
Genuinely curious....

I live in Foley. I can support this.

Dammit! I want to move to Bama just to vote for you! I hope you win and can enact some real change.
