Have you seen what cities are offering to lure the 2nd Amazon HQ? Delta could probably move for free

Amazon opening up a second corporate hq is nothing like an airline moving its base of operations.

You can debate whether it’s smart or dumb in the long term but Delta opened the political door. And I don’t see them going anywhere because they get a ton of other freebies and benefits from GA. Just not their gas anymore, as of right now.

Wasn't Delta already in the political arena by partnering with a lobbying organization? What would be the feeling if a liberal administration took a tax benefit away for someone that was partnered with a conservative lobbying organization?

I'm not sure you understand the dynamics here. Delta could frick Atlanta 6 ways to Sunday if they wanted to play hardball

Well, that will remain to be seen then. Play nice, the state plays nice with you. Be a dumbass, then you get your tax breaks 86'ed to provide fair competition.

Amazon’s HQ doesn’t require having a major international airport with a shite ton of gates dedicated to them.

Even if construction started today, whatever city hosted the new Delta hub wouldn’t be ready for years, if not a decade.

This is what happens when you let teens govern your decision making.

They're just going to raise ticket prices to cover this. The consumer is always the one hurt the most by these types of things.

They're not going anywhere. They've invested billions upon billions into Hartsfield Jackson. Very few airports in the country are as up to date as that airport.

Then consumers will use another airline aka free market. I hardly ever fly delta outside of a flight here and there to Mexico City and get around just fine without them

so Much for not letting government interfere with private companies.... its only good if it benefits republicans apparently.

What happened to a free market?

Or lay employees off. Someone is hurt in the end regardless.

How might that work in terms of cost basis and obligatory fiduciary duty?

Good.

Removing a special tax break is very different from not allowing the free market to operate. frick Delta. I'm glad they'll be paying up.

You're beyond nuts if you think Delta going to do anything that could lose them significant shares of Hartford airport after they've invested millions if not billions of dollars into it.

They're literally dug their roots into Atlanta and it's going to be extremely difficult to dig them back up.

They probably wanted to avoid the legal pitfalls brought by the other airlines, and used this as an excuse. Don't know but it seems like a nice cover.

lol Delta is a fricking cashcow for Georgia. They don’t give a frick about Qatar and fricking Turkish airlines.

My point is government officials shouldn’t threaten one of the state’s largest corporations and one of it’s biggest money makers over a 5% discount to a tiny percentage of people.

But I’ll say it again here: If Delta doesn’t want to support the NRA, they shouldn’t be threatened.
And if a baker doesn’t want to bake a cake for a wedding, he shouldn’t have his livelihood taken from him.
Well the two aren’t really even remotely similar are they?
