I would go after the Judge's bond. The judge is not a doctor.

Wow. Yes I do, for his kids. Let’s put this another way. Childless kidnapper about to take your kids and raise them as his own in a loving, safe environment. You gotta take a bullet to the kneecap to keep them with you. Certainly not fair to have to make that choice. Do you let him take the kids or do you stand on principle?

To continue your analogy, you take a bullet to the kneecap this time, hoping that this will assuage the kidnapper. But the kidnapper comes back and kidnaps your kids again and you have to take another bullet in your other leg. Then, a third kidnapping and so on. Eventually, you won't be able to take any more bullets. This is how power-hungry leftist swamp dwellers operate. If you give them an inch, they take a mile. They will never be satiated.

I see what you’re saying, but this is a specific case. If he was vaccinated, he could be with his kids. Do you really think the government cares enough to go after this guy’s kids again? He, and you, are right in principle. But if you have kids, I just can’t imagine making this choice. My job as a parent is, if necessary, to risk my life for my children. Maybe I’d sacrifice my life to fight tyranny, maybe not, I hope it never comes to that. But I’d never sacrifice my kids.

So what ? The Vaccine doesn't keep you from getting infected with Covid. Even if he had vaccinated himself, he would not reduce by any percentage the chance of getting Covid and passing it to his daughter.

I would understand if he refused to vaccinate the daughter, but himself ? That's just retarded.

Then again, I still think it's incredible stupid to force people to get a vaccine that has no legal liabilitly.

I doubt they would stop with taking the guy's kids again. I believe they would be emboldened to to take further steps to erode freedom in general. See Australia if you want to see Canada's future. See Canada to see our future. That is unless people stand up to the tyranny now. "2 weeks to flatten the curve" is a running joke now. It's both funny and scary.

The founders sacrificed their lives, fortunes and sacred honors because they knew caving in to tyrants today doesn't make them go away tomorrow. The citizen yearns to be free and the government yearns to have more control over the citizen. That is an ongoing struggle we cannot afford to lose, or our kids will live in tyranny of our own making.

The fact that we are having to talk about government taking kids away from law-abiding citizens as a concrete example instead of in the abstract shows how far we've already fallen.

You’re asking the wrong question. The right question is: If they do, what’s (or who’s) going to stop them?

And some of y’all want to ask how things ever got to the state they did in Nazi Germany and act all bewildered about it. Regular people with families chose the path of least resistance over and over again, that’s how. Just like this.

So, in your opinion, this individual is doing the right thing? Letting his kids go so the rest of us are more free?

You would have turned your neighbors in during WWII.

That's funny. Why would you ask when you already know the answer. Neighbors, coworkers, brothers, sisters, parents - all secondary to his god, the State.

Canada is about as bad as Australia, totally overrun with delusional Covidians who’ve become completely detached from reality.

Is he “letting his kids go”, though? I’ll admit I skimmed the article, but unless he’s specifically said he’s done fighting, that’s a gigantic presumption on your part — and an impossible question to answer. But I could easily turn it around and ask you if it would somehow make it all better if caving to ridiculous demands to hold onto your kids in one situation actually made it easier for every citizen (yourself included) to potentially lose their children to unwarranted government interference in the future … especially since you dodged answering that question the first time I posed it. Care to address it now?

And just for the record, I realize that I can’t say with 100% certainty what I’d do in his shoes because I haven’t been there. I simply refuse to view the situation through such a short-sighted lens because, like it or not, this is exactly the kind of situation that authoritarian regimes exploit to gain a greater foothold, and I’d prefer to think that I wouldn’t be so weak-minded about it as to roll over to obvious tyrannical overreach just because they went after my Achilles heel.

I feel sorry for idiots like you and the stubborn gentleman in the article who are so selfish and screwed mentally, that you can't see the big picture. Selfish indeed!!

Why are you so stupid? Is it intentional or are you retarded?

@Dotbling....Not stupid at all. Just speaking the obvious. Just because you don't agree with someone, doesn't make the other person stupid. That's your problem. I can't help you there baw.

I am in absolute shot and dismay over a few posters in this red taking the side of the government over a parent.

Their complete ignorance and inability to comprehend it is exactly what led to Nazi Germany development.

Again, I am just shot how these people operate in a normal society. What scares me even more are the number of other people Similar mindset and you wonder why history repeats itself

I was raised by a mother who was wired like this dad. She, too, did her own shitty research, which was largely based in her own quack religious beliefs. The medical community was the enemy and she did everything possible to block access to doctors and medicine. My dad had to sneak us to the doctors when he’d visit us. I’m lucky to be alive following untreated asthma. Fortunately a family member came over to the house and saw the state I was in and took me to the ER. The ER doctors had a long talk with my mom during my recovery and she finally got the message that her stubbornness / neglect was in fact child abuse.

In short, frick this dad.

Comparing medical neglect of a child to a father not wanting to get a vaccine that isn't even 50% effective anymore? You a truly a dumbarse of epic proportions.

Your childhood sounds sad and tragic. Do you think your experiences may have influenced your beliefs to be the opposite extreme of your mother's?
