Neither the establishment republicans nor the establishment democrats want to stop illegal immigration or illegal drugs from entering this country. “They” profit from both because if “they” didn’t profit from it, it sure as hell wouldn’t be happening.

A) I'm no liberal
B) Looks like the Big Pharma shills have arrived. That blood money buys shills by the thousands

My dad was an alcoholic for many years. He was very conservative. Addictions don't care about party affiliations.

We don't even have to do that. We just need to militarize the southern border like many other countries do.

If Mexico is a country it only owns the areas it controls. If it can't control the cartels then that land is not a part of Mexico and should be treated separately.

We live in a free society. People can choose to do whatever they a want to themselves. Who are you to decide what is and is not dangerous enough to be considered illegal? Fatty foods? Sugar drinks? Cigarettes? Alcohol? Cough syrup? Axe body spray? Etc...?

Maybe someone who realizes that many people are weak and don't need a crutch that can kill them to get through life.

So it's the government's responsibility to protect certain people from their own poor choices at the expense of everyone else's freedom?
You must be pro strict gun control too, right?

Tell Mexico we are declaring war on the cartels... either work with us and we can be friends or move out of the way.
How the U.S. lost the drug war in Afghanistan

You support outright banning a substance because a few weak people may use it as crutch that can kill them to get through life?
So because a few weak people can't control themselves no one is allowed to make that choice?
Heart disease and obesity kills more people in this country than almost anything else. I assume you support the government banning processed foods, corn syrup, sugar drinks, fast food in general, anything fried, pizza, etc...?
Why not? After all it does harm to our society and many people are too weak to say no.

The biggest lie I have ever seen in the fight to legal pot.
This isn't about you or another person being allowed to have your drugs.
The cartels could take a hit, but they are not going to give up on their money.
That's the stupidest line ever quoted by pro pot people. All it will do is lower the street price and continue to see new drugs that are more dangerous pumped into our cities.
Keep the "We want our drugs legalized because my desires" separate.
They will NOT go away.

I don't think so. Maybe making their leadership "Most Likely In This Hemisphere To Be Killed In A Drone Strike" would make the position a little less desirable, though.

We agree on a lot, but not this. It's not a few week people. In fact, it's kids in the inner city who will be pressured by gangs to use. That element will not go away until we actually take care of business by irradiating the cartels and all associated with them.

As the Socialist begin to take over this nation, there are no doubts that those with poor choices will force me to pay for their drug habits.

Dying slowly over time is not the same as an addict who commits crimes to support his habit. It's not the same.

If your goal is to ban things that might hurt inner city kids, then, again, you have to look at diets.
Do you know how many little obese kids in inner cities are pressures by their moms and grandma's and older siblings to eat constant diet of fried chicken, sugar drinks, carb overloads, and foods no one should eat like pigs feet?
Do you know how many inner-city kids think McDonald's or a bucket of fried chicken from KFC is a nutritional meal?

The opioid crisis is burning like wild fire through white suburbia right now. Those kids aren't out committing crimes. They're taking their allowance and ODing.

Inner city kids are most affected by black market gun sales as well. Should we ban guns for everyone too?

Literally the exact same arguments were used to oppose the 21st amendment.
"Yeah, the mobsters may take a hit, but they're not going to give up on their money. All it will do is lower the street price and continue to see new, more dangerous, alcoholic beverages pumped into our cities."
None of that happened because black markets are never as efficient as free markets, and consumers overwhelmingly favor the latter given the choice.

You still see alot of organized crime centered around bootlegging moonshine?
A massive driver of the opiod crisis right now is over diagnosis and over prescribing of prescription narcotics to people who don't need them. It creates addicts.
My dad had routine tooth cleaning and cavity filled a couple months ago. The doctor offered him a 30 day script for oxy for the pain. My dad said no. The doctor said he'd knock it down to 15 days. My dad said no. The doc then told my dad he'd call in a prescription to Walgreens for a weeks supply with a refill and he could pick it up if he wants. That's a major fricking problem there.

So what? The cartels clearly make tons of profit from weed, else they wouldn't be moving it in the first place. They already move opioids and harder stuff. Why do you want to give them weed profits too? You think keeping weed illegal is going to keep Americans from getting into opioids?
