I wonder what this woman looked like? Inquiring minds want to know.

Guess you missed the part where LEO’s are required to have their sidearm on their person at all times when in uniform.

The take home here is outback is primed for a shooting incident going forward with their 'gun free' mantra and will not have any 'good guys' with LEO or citizens packing there to diffuse potential situations. Best of luck fake Australian restaurant.

So, if said officer refuses to leave, do they call the armed police to come remove him, or are they on their own to settle this issue?
If the police come, do they have to leave their weapons in their vehicle before entering Outback?
Just a thought?

quote:No, the "take home" is that the company apologized to the warden and gave him a gift certificate.

A SANE person would read that fact as indicating that they company will be making an exception to its policy for on-duty LEOs.

if a property owner has a "no guns policy," EVERY patron should respect that policy. Even the game warden
just curious... but..
what if a business owner has a "no baking cakes for homosexuals" policy? should that be respected as well?
I'm guessing you'll apply it differently in that case for whatever reason. and honestly it is kind of a grey area for me.. but as a constitutionalist I don't think a business should be able to deny you your rights (in any case).

He says a patron at another table reported being scared for her life. "She said police are shooting people, and she could have gotten shot in the parking lot, and the manager had to walked her and her husband to their vehicle,"
Probably tipped $3 on the $80 bill

I am a huge 2A supporter.
I am a Veteran.
I own over 100 handguns.
I am a certified NRA advanced instructor and Chief Range Safety officer.
I am in agreement with the manager. Policy states it is a Gun Free zone. Everyone should have to abide by their policy as it is backed by law.
I like Outback more than Game Wardens

also sounds like the game warden was trying to play billy badass wearing his gun inside a dang restaurant.
And if the joint had been robbed while he was there, do you really think it would be a great idea to be wearing a badge and not have a gun?

Hope he said, "thank you, but what good is a $100 gift card when I won't be coming back?"

So if someone tries to rob the Outback, police are not allowed to enter the building because it’s a gun free zone? The managers a clown and should be fired.
Wonder if this was Lebrons mother making the complaint.

The problem is that Colorado had such a law. I personally despise “public accommodation“ laws for exactly this reason among others, but the people of Colorado felt differently.
And (unfortunately) SCOTUS has repeatedly upheld the constitutionality of public accommodation laws.

That seems a bit petty.

In the State Of Tennessee a Wildlife Resources Agency officer (Game Warden) has the exact same authority and arrest powers as a State Trooper.
They actually have a little more authority.
“However, game wardens are given more discretion when enforcing laws because of what is called the open field doctrine. In nature, animals do not follow signs that say “no trespassing” and may enter a private property that is adjacent to public lands.
In this case, game wardens are permitted to enter private property to investigate legal violations. The open field doctrine applies to any space that is not within what is called one’s curtilage, that is, the area immediately surrounding a dwelling. This means that if you have your car parked in the open field, a game warden has the authority to look in it to ensure you are following conservation laws. “

quote:Do you want a game warden to go into the woods often at night to confront someone breaking game laws that is probably 100% carrying a weapon (possibly a high powered hunting rifle). Plus, he had the possibility of encountering someone who he has arrested in the past.
I said I was conflicted, not confused.
I was at a favored breakfast eatery in the recent past and probably 10 wildlife agents entered the restaurant. All toting. Didn't bother me a bit.
