We figured such when the dems took the house back. The Mueller Report will not have anything regarding Russian Collusion but will be aimed at obstruction of Justice and be the recipe for impeachment proceedings. My question.... Does anybody have an idea when? And then do we think the Senate will hold firm and not remove Trump from office? I am Geri f nervous about some the the Weak Republicans Senators. Looking for other opinions please

Pelosi will bring impeachment to the floor no doubt, whether or not it passes is another story.

Everything has been orchestrated months ago. Cohen, etc., all planned and timed for maximum political damage.

Next year. It will keep Trump off the road so he can't do his rallies and fire up the base.

If they try and remove Trump from office there will be blood in the streets.

I don’t like Trump, and this is not clear at all to me. In fact, I find it unlikely.

Yep.

The Dems are working backwards: first decide to impeach, then start working on the reasons.

The timing will definitely be before the 2020 elections. That way, the Dem nominee can run against an impeached Trump, even though everyone knows the Senate will not convict. This is election strategy, and nothing more.

sundance at Conservative Treehouse says its going to likely be in the fall when impeachment is brought up for a vote. The main hurdle being the dems don't want to bring it up to the floor in the House unless they know for sure it will pass. Then if the senate shoots it down(which they probably will) they can blame the senate for enabling/protecting a criminal president which will fuel their 2020 run.

What's clear is that they're going to make every effort to impeach but the votes might not be there. The whole House is up in 2020 and House Dems in purple districts could kill this thing out of pure self-preservation.

like foreign Comey

i assume you mean "firing Comey". if that was the case, they would've gotten him for that already

same as the above. calling the investigation a witch hunt isn't obstructing anything.

I agree. He will get impeached by the House. He will not be removed from office by the Senate. The 2020 campaign for the Dems would be "Who would vote for an impeached President?"

or

They could wait until after 2020 and impeach him if the Dems gain numbers in Congress.

They already have a Dem majority in the House, which is the only thing needed for impeachment. So they only need to convince a few Dems running for reelection, who may be worried about backlash at the polls.
