For now. Will be less than 5% come November.

Not high enough. Everything must be cancelled until unemployment reaches 25% and we have a vaccine for every communicable disease known to humans.

Not likely
And some of us care more about things getting back to normal than we do about the stupid election
Makes little difference who the president is really

Maybe this will wake people up to the fact that elections have consequences.

Going to be tough. You realize that’s barely six months away now?
With all of the bankruptcies, small business closures, and the increased unemployment benefits through the end of summer (and I assume that will be extended), I don’t see unemployment getting back below 8-10% by election time.
Hopefully I’m wrong though.

Don't believe that will happen.

That’s a bit shortsighted.

Just filed for it on Wednesday. Hopefully that’s the first and last time in my life I ever have to do that.

I think this good news under the circumstances. Thought this number would be higher- and frankly probably is.

The longer it goes on the more it goes up
Once more small businesses have to close permanently you're going to see more job losses obviously

Doubtful though I hope you’re right. I’ve seen many reports of local manufacturers and small business on verge of bankruptcy or filing for it. In some states who will be shutdown longer this will be common unless they somehow get major financial relief.
Plus there will be people taking the increased UE until it runs out in 4-6 months unless states start eliminating them from eligibility when their job becomes available. I think it’ll rebound to 6-8% UE by November but it’ll be 2021 before we can see 5% or lower
