Under what circumstances would you fully support a Covid-19 vaccine mandate?

I have thought about this and my thoughts are as follows, if the Covid-19 virus had a mortality rate of over 5% and the vaccines were a real "dead end" inoculation to end the virus I would say it's a no brainer. The facts are, COVID-19 has a mortality rate of less than 1% and the vaccines can not "dead end" the virus so mass vaccinations are a moot attempt to control viral spread. The good thing is data shows that MRNA COVID-19 vaccines do lessen the chance of hospitalization and death and that's a good thing but it's not enough to mandate vaccinations for a targeted segment of society.

If it actually was a pandemic and not a political weapon. 99% of America supports vaccination for measles and polio. We aren’t resisting on things that are actual deadly diseases.

If COVID was bad enough you wouldn’t need a mandate.

There is no reason to enforce this

Assume the risk of a virus that under 50 has like a 99% survival rate

Do you want politicians forcing medical decisions on you?

End of story

Correct answer. You also know something is fricky when they have barred any legal ramifications for vaccine side effects.

If it was killing healthy, young, people like the Spanish Flu did; then, yes - absolutely. This ain't the Spanish Flu though. It's tearing through 80+ year olds and people with multiple comorbidities.

To put it bluntly, I'd rather get Covid-19 than the Flu. I've known several people that had Covid-19 and it was like a mild cold. For one of them, the only way they knew they even had it was the transient loss of sense of taste.

I did get the Pfizer shot(s), because of my age and I trusted the advice of my doctor. I, however, wouldn't recommend it to a young <50 year old; healthy person, because it seems rather unnecessary.

That being said, I consider myself pretty healthy. Normal BMI and I make an effort to exercise 3-4 times a week.

This is how rational Americans think.....unfortunately we have authoritarian Marxists running the government.

There are people in their 20s,30s at organizations right now being told they have to be "fully vaxxed" in the next few months to stay employed essentially. Broad mandates, extended from the BS from Biden's BS

That's OK? If they work completely remotely? No alternatives re: testing or anything

Get 2 shots of this that they don't want to remain employed?

Sure. If the vaccine worked and covid was 10x deadlier.

But if that was true you wouldn’t need a mandate. People would be lined up to get it.

It's pretty interesting. It begs the question. What's next? If, Joe Biden, can mandate vaccines then what else can he mandate (for the public health)?

I mean, keep in mind, it wasn't all that long ago that democrats were staunchly opposed to mandates. Joe Biden, himself, even said he would oppose a mandate.

It's really scary how quickly these people flip flop on major issues. Frankly, I wouldn't trust any of these people with my safety. And yet, Biden, is the recognized Commander in Chief of the most powerful military on the planet.

I know people who died from it in their late 30s. The average US citizen should be getting vaccinated due to risk. I am not going to sit here and demand a mandate, but I think it is a strange thing to be so against this particular vaccine.

To be fair it is really destroying company productivity with infections.

I would love to see someone explain to a 20-40 year old why they should get the vaccine

And many people are being forced to possibly lose their jobs over this

Hint: Protecting others isn't an answer

People saw this coming almost 2 years ago

2 weeks to flatten the curve

No mandate ever. People react appropriately naturally. Its why freedom works so well.
