We currently have bases in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, a few of the Baltic states, not to mention Bondsteel in Kosovo. We even have an active US Army Garrison function in Poland.

Good. We may find ourselves on the far outs with Western Europe. And those Western European countries will likely be in a soft conflict with us. Like charging members of the Trump administration with war crimes. You know they want to do this.

The laughable part of this is countries like the UK and Italy have economies in the shitter because they don’t want to work.
These bases employ 1,000s of people and pump millions if not billions into the local economies. Most of them are in fairly rural areas.
If they lost the bases to other countries, the only people that suffer are the locals. And they will be pissed.

Some will come home I’m sure. Some will go to Eastern Europe like Poland or the Baltic countries. We might try keep one or two of the bigger bases like Ramstein in Germany but that would depend on Germany and how much they would charge us to keep it.
Leaving NATO will hurt us the most when it comes to the Navy. Not having access to ports along the Mediterranean like Rota and a few others will hurt a lot. I don’t what the plan will be to try to make up those losses.

You think Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are as flakey as the rest of Western Europe. They seem very different than the Polish. And what will the two newest members of NATO Finland and Sweden do? Because they seem like they want to be Western Europeans.
