I would hazard to guess that the amount of traffic on x, tik tok, and youtube is 1000 times the traffic as blue sky

Almost every online tool today allows for social interaction. I don’t know how they can clearly demarcate social media.

Why does that matter? If they are regulating "harmful" content, shouldn't that apply to both large and small social media platforms? Not to mention, it seems likely that a platform spared from the ban will become more popular with young people if their normal choices are no longer available. Obviously, every platform, large or small, would prefer to be on the govt's allowed list.

And that’s the problem. Now you’re going to force kids to go on Bluesky. Which is specifically moderated to censor any right-wing ideology whatsoever. And some even say it promotes pedophilia in some ways.

Why would they even want to do this? With all the stuff that’s been going on in England, don’t you think there might be some kind of an underlying motive here?

On top of that, why shouldn’t this be on the parents to moderate? Do we really want the government censoring everything except Blue Sky? What are we doing here?

It matters if kids spend 6-8 hours a day online. That’s a problem.

And they aren’t on blue sky.

The idea that parent have any control to moderate is false.

It it weren’t false, parents would be able to moderate, and this legislation wouldn’t be occurring.

Yeah, they have already clarified that this ban doesn't apply to adults and all you'll have to do is prove you're of age with your digital ID in order to use social media.

And to think, if Trump weren't here the US would be going down exactly this same path.

Well thats about the biggest load of horse shite I have heard all day.

Parents dont know which gender is best for their kids either right? Let the government "help".

Maybe some camps to reeducate the parents?

So, when twitter is banned, they'll spend 6-8 hours a day on platforms that aren't banned, like BlueSky. The only difference is that now they'll be exposed to speech that's regulated in accordance with the government's preference.

You're trying to suggest that this is about something other than government censorship of undesirable political viewpoints. Unfortunately, that's what political factions do when they gain power and get in the business of regulating speech, they suppress the speech of those who oppose or disagree with them. This is nothing new. It's not even new to Britain. That's why the first ammendment to the US constitution is about freedom of speech; it's intended to prevent government control of speech.

I'm sure the left will enforce the bans without bias.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Why do you think so many 18 year olds vote for communists?

I agree with it. It would never fly in the US, but I don't plan on letting my kids have social media until then.

Parents need to take more control of their children. Or we could turn this into a fad and white women will go nuts over it

And you think that will continue? Do you think well nobody’s going to use blue sky and it’s always going to be that way. Nobody’s gonna use it. Theyll just choose to not do the Internet at all.

You seem like you’re smarter than this and it does sound like you’re trying to defend this bullshite

I’ve checked the numbers. By comparison, the traffic is minuscule.
