So, the way that reads is, they were acting as lone wolves. Nobody else knew about it.

The first thing I did was to read the actual indictment, not the media's take on the indictment. It is being alleged that these guys basically created a company for the sole purpose of making political contributions to conceal the true origin/nature of the funds. What isn't clear is who is actually funding it. Looks like the donations were rather large.

Actually, articles on these two guys just started popping up over the last couple of days, apparently some "reporters" acquired copies of their bank statements. So this was well coordinated.

apparently the Super PAC recognized this donation was fishy so they segregated the money into a separate account and parked it waiting to see what shook out
