I think this is the wrong argument to make (attacking his character/motives). It doesn’t matter if he was peaceful or violent, he was standing in the way of a wall of police clearing the area. The cops did nothing wrong.

No amount of troublemaking justifies cops pushing elderly people, at all. None. When the old man pulls out an actual weapon of some sort? Sure. Otherwise, the mentally deficient cops literally fell into his easy trap, at best.

If you try to touch a coo’s belt I have no problem with him pushing them down. The problem isn’t with the cops but with the lack of respect for their authority. Touch a stove and you get burned.
