For Seinfeld every episode would feature the Puerto Rican gays. Friends they would make Gunter black but Phoebe was a black character she had a half brother who was on drugs lol

But could these two shows, which happened to feature "all-white" recurring casts, even be allowed on television in 2021?

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia has been on the air for 15 years so yes they can.

There’s an obligated gay person in every show now

Look at Shameless on showtime, it was a great show for the first five or six years, now it’s like watching MSNBC. Everything has an agenda now.

Good Lord.

That was ENTIRELY tongue-in-cheek. One could almost HEAR the cast rolling their eyes.

Not a chance

Seinfeld still gets shite on today by woke SJWs - despite the show ending over 20 years ago.

I've heard more than once that Seinfeld no longer plays college campuses. Appears to be some mutual disdain between himself and the "woke" kids.

I can't help but laugh my arse off, though. Those same college kids who think Seinfeld is a relic of culturally insensitive times (the 1990's - lol) are probably laughing their asses off at no-talent asshats like Pete Davidson and Leslie Jones.
Young people today don't even know what good comedy is.

I wonder if George Carlin could even play college campuses today?

I've seen his act twice. Once in BR at the River Center and once in Lafayette at the Heymann Performing Arts Center. Sell outs both time. He does a great show.

Friends has not aged well. I thought it was overrated greatly during its original run and still lame to me. Seinfeld still a great show and holds up 25-30 years on.

Yeah, I don't think Friends was even close to being as good as Seinfeld. Unlike Seinfeld, it certainly wasn't a groundbreaking show. How could it be, when it waa really nothing much more than a sterilized rip-off of Seinfeld with a cast that was about a decade younger?

I got into Friends for approximately one season. Season 2, I believe. I always thought that Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow were a notch above the rest of the cast, and made the show better than it otherwise would've been. But still, it was impossible to ignore that Friends was simply a slightly younger, more conventional rip-off of Seinfeld. I tired of it after a year or so.

It had a helluva run, though.
