What about the radio comms between the Israeli pilots and the tower? It's very clear they knew who it was and coordinated repeated assaults on the ship, not just a couple of strafing runs, but repeated attacks by air and sea. The only reason anyone survived is because they were able to rig up communications.

No Blueboy the plot board was cleared after the ship was ID hours before the attack. The town on the coast is being shelled and Israel sent jets to see what is going on.


Remember there are 3 Egyptian naval ships in the area in the last 18 hours.

The person who called in the report on the shelling of the town said it came from the sea.

One of the Egyptian vessels was a destroyer id earlier.

Miss id a ship at sea is easy and these are jets doing 450+ mph, the Liberty it appears was not flying it's flag and one of the Egyptian vessels in the area earlier looked much like the Liberty,

Now if you want to do some research look at WWII and everyone is calling ships larger than they are, Hosho for a fleet carrier, Destroyers for Heavy Cruisers. This is time and time again, the Japanese thought our little escort carrier where fleet carriers at the battle of Taffy 3 The planes are only doing 150-250mph, that is the attack planes in WWII.

The commander of the Israelite patrol boats had in an earlier fight been tricked by Egyptian vessel using the light to signal and this is why he attacked when the Liberty could not answer by radio. It is another Israel boat commander who figured out the vessel was US.

This all goes down because the Liberty marker is pulled of the plot board at 11am and the report of the coastal town being shelled from the sea.

Also how close did the Liberty really get to the coast?
