Please don't play obtuse, DeSantis waffled on Ukraine. He told Tucker Carlson it was a a “territorial dispute” and not one of America’s “vital national interests.”

Very soon afterwards it was all over the news that the GOP establishment caucus were clutching their pearls about how the Ron DeSantis Ukraine stance was going off the mark of their Ukraine stance talking points.

DeSantis donors were reported to directly call DeSantis having a conniption fit over his statement.

DeSantis recanted and gave a more GOP establishment Ukraine statement.

Point being: DeSantis waffled. DeSantis ran on being MAGA and his mask came off.

You may like the establishment republicans which vote in DC like democrats; but thankfully nearly 65% no longer respect the establishment and their fake diplomacy slush funds.

Jeb! Bush bankrolled one of the first DeSantis fundraisers, in Miami, and was at the DeSantis inaugurations.

I know democrats/the uniparty love the Bush clan and war now. But stop pissing down our backs and telling us it is raining.

DeSantis lost Ken Griffin as a big donor.

To the degree this is true, so what? It's okay for Trump to say things he doesn't mean all the f'n time, but DeSantis makes a statement to quiet the peanut gallery and the superfans "melt" over it.

DeSantis never ran on spending like a liberal Democrat, not completing the wall, feeding the frick out of the establishment, and handing the country over to the Left.

This is comical. The establishment f'n thrived under your political Jesus. Permanent Washington/the establishment was far more powerful, in control and monied on Trump's last day in office than it was on his first. That is fact.

It's bizarro world where Trump didn't spend the last year chasing DeSantis donors on the basis that DeSantis was too radical

Because RDS has a record to run on, and has the message discipline not to go off on wild tangents, and attack potential allies over imaginary slights. Trump will motivate people to vote against him. DeSantis won’t.
You cannot imagine how much Trump is disliked not by just Democrats, but independents. As it is now, Biden still has a shot at beating Trump. He won’t debate, and he can point to Trump sitting out the debates in the Primary as an excuse. He’ll just say, the American people know what Trump is, I don’t need to get on the stage and give him any attention.

Any Democrat who can pull off the reasonable look will blow Trump out of the water.

ETA Biden won’t be the nominee.

All of that is true.

It's historically uncommon for people to turn out to vote against someone. If they don't like their candidate, they typically just stay home. But that's not the case with Trump. In the last election, folks actually went to the polls to ensure his loss. No one believed in Joe Biden or really wanted him to be President. They just knew they didn't want Donald Trump.

If folks on this board and others like it would step outside these echo chambers for a moment, they would be godsmacked with how utterly reviled Donald Trump actually is, with not only Democrats but also Independents and many Republicans. Trump's unelectability would fully sober them.

You're correct. Biden will not be the nominee and almost any Democrat can and will beat Donald Trump but it won't be just any Democrat. It'll be Gavin Newsom. Donald Trump will ensure this.

We can cherry pick any poll we want but those of us who are actually capable of seeing the world around us knows how fully exhausted people are with Donald Trump.

Trump knows he will never President of the United States again but if President Nero can't have it, no Republican or Conservative will and for this reason, Gavin Newsom will be the next President of the United States of America.

You might be right about this which would make me wrong. Last night there was an interesting thread that showed a large portion of Trump's base will abandon him and help usher in Biden II or Newsom I if Trump taps Haley for VP.

For a lot of MAGA - Biden/Harris is preferred to Trump/Haley

In other words, a lot of Trumpdom is more threatened by Nikki Haley doing nothing as VP than they are Biden or Newsom continuing to torch the country. The story here isn't the dislike of Haley - we're all onboard with that. The story is a lot of MAGA not being all that twisted about what the Democrats are doing to the country.

I did not see this. I mean, it actually seems retarded and self-defeating, but MAGA gonna MAGA, I guess.

MAGA isn’t worried about Haley doing nothing as VP. They’re worried about her actively working to remove Trump.

I am getting used to the thought of another Trump presidency. If he fails at all except one thing in term 2, that one thing is to unleash the US Attorneys and sic them on the democrats. I'm talking the politicians and everyone else who deserves it.
