They need to be brought down quite a few pegs and reminded that they are there to serve the paying customers. They aren’t essential to the flight of the aircraft, they aren’t attending to the operational aspects of the jet, the overwhelming majority of us could board, find our seats, stow our bags, buckle our belts, all without them. They’re just there to serve drinks and microwave food.

This is false.
United, Delta, American, Southwest, Alaska, multiple regionals…pretty much every US carrier at this point has publicly rescinded any mask requirement on their aircraft. As for airport property the TSA has announced there’s no mandate there any longer.

My theory on this is that the administration found its "off ramp".
Let this ruling stand. If no massive outbreak related to air travel occurs, no one recalls this judge's name and it goes away.
If the worst happens, they have a Trump appointed judge to blame.
Masks don't work to reduce community transmission, but there is a highly vocal collection of idiots that worship them. They all vote (D), so the party is beholden to them.
