Let's look at Biden's record on authoritarianism:
- Press secretary openly bragged multiple times about working with social media to censor people (and there is a 90 page House report on this).
- Had IRS goons visit the home of one of the best journalists of the last 20 years on the very day that guy testified about weaponization of government.
- Tried to start a ministry of truth.
- Put the current director of national intelligence on a terror watch list for dissenting political opinions.
-Brought all of corporate media to a retreat in Delaware and instructed them how to report on him during election season.
Trump bullies the press, but they kind of deserve it after Russiagate and any number of other things. And it's not like he prevents them from reporting. There are a few things he is doing on free speech I am not a fan of (pulling funding from schools and deporting people for not saying the right things), so I try to call that out.
As for the tariffs, I have no idea whether they are a good or bad idea. But, I do agree that most of this board would be roasting a Dem for the same actions and spooking the markets. That's a part of the tribalism I hate. Trump has both sides doing 180s on their positions. It's fascinating to watch.

If they were made overseas you'd be paying high tariffs. If they were made domestically, you'd be paying for overpriced Union Labor and their pensions.
Tariffs hurt the consumers of the country levying the tariffs. It's an economic principle that doesn't retreat based on popularity of party affiliation.
