Why? He’s a DSM-5-TR narcissist, plain and simple. They often exaggerate or even lie about their accomplishments.
“Nobody knows more about windmills (or insert any other topic) than me.”

well, i remember a juicy story by crooked hillary about how she was named after sir edmund hillary. the first person to climb mt. everest. i think it was discovered that she was born before he climbed that mountain. of course hillary would say she miss remembered.
Right and everyone here rightfully gave her shite for it. But when Trump lies or says something stupid it’s “but Biden/Kamala/Obama/Hillary did this”.

Almost every very highly successful person does this.

If you ask Americans about Ivy League POTUSes, most would know Obama is a Harvard grad, Bill Clinton is Yale and a Rhodes Scholar .... but how many would be aware Trump is an Ivy Leaguer as well
Not many and this is because for the first few years the media was trying to tell everyone Trump couldn't even frickin' read. As far as the DNA goes, his sister (I believe) is a federal judge. They cannot do anything but lie about the man. They are absolutely terrified of him and anyone who terrifies the establishment is a-ok in my book.
Another thing he likes to do is bring up random shite like the unibomber to get people digging into him because he fricking KNOWS that the media behaves this way. And this in turn causes all the anti-Trump reeeeee personalities to do research as well. This is a subtle little jab at the Clintons is what it is. Trump is a genius.

He can't tell the truth when the truth would serve him better.
It's one of his defects

Trump: Let's visit the US military cemetery here in France.
SS: Sir, we can't do that because the road there is narrow and a security risk.
Trump: OK.
The MSM: Trump didn't want to visit the cemetery because dead soldiers are suckers and losers.

So instead, he can embellish and let the MSM whine about his concocted narrative rather than concocting their own.

I guess it's the same reason that Joe Biden's uncle Bosie was eaten by cannibals during WW2 or how Bo Biden died fighting in Iraq or how Hunter Biden's laptop was disinformation.
Or how Joe Biden drove an 18 wheeler for a living, or how Joe Biden was arrested when he was in South Africa in during a 1970's trip to South Africa, I can go on but it's late.
Where were you when Joe Biden was lying?
Or did you believe Joe Biden because you have agenda?
Don't complain about liars when you as a socialist "democrat" are based on lies.
...or how Joe Biden's daughter and first wife were killed by a drunk driver. What about Corn Pop? I heard he was a bad dude, but did he even exist outside of Joe's imagination?

His son disputes Corp Pop was a "bad dude with a straight razor" but says he always heard "he knew Joe Biden and they had some kind of run-in when they were younger."

The press secretary’s response today was gaslighting at its best. She chastised the reporter for even bringing the question up with so many things going on in the world. But Let’s just forget that with so many things going on in the world, Trump is the one who brought the tall tale up. Then her only condescending response is his uncle did teach at MIT. As if that’s some sort of “Gotcha!”
