If the left hates it, this is typically the reason. They don't want something to succeed.

Maybe you didn't quote it, but I'm missing the point in the OP where this benefits anyone in America

So yes, tariffs are “working”

Hey shat for brains, its an electric suv plant. If they are paying 500 billion in tariffs to the US they are selling a lot of cars here.

Perhaps they should take the toyota path invest 10 billion in the US in hybrid car manufacturing.

I'm mocking the idea that a company would move their manufacturing here for the same outcome. Why would they build a factory here when next week the tariffs could be gone?

um uh because next week the tariffs will not be gone? Even if the USSC ruled against them, there are two more laws they will use to continue them, Bessent has already said this.

See lawfare works both ways

Majorities of Americans say the economy (65%), the way the federal government is functioning (65%), dealing with other countries (60%), and dealing with undocumented immigrants (57%) are headed in the wrong direction.

28% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the controversy over the Epstein files.

Picture this: the town you live in has a bakery but they charge $8 for a loaf of homemade bread. The next town over has a bakery that charges $5. The mayor of your town doesn't like that everyone goes to get the cheaper bread, so he implements an "out-of-town tax." Now you have to pay $10 to get the out-of-town bread, or $8 to get local bread. Now instead of $5 bread you're paying $8 for local bread or $10 for foreign bread. Is that winning?

Wrong, and wrong. As the OP stated, in your example the 5 dollar bread now costs 5.25 but the baker is making far less so he will move to your town hire you and you wife, enabling you to buy an American made toyota.

The news cycle can turn over in a matter of weeks.

Let’s see how all of this plays out.

On another note, are you still kowtowing to Xi and the CCP?

That''s one line numbnutz. My company does a ton of work there. Our sales inside that one plant have gone from around $2-3mm per year to under $500K.

Again, its funny AF that you really believe that tariffs have ZERO downstream effect.

Are sales down for EV’s without massive giver subsidies to support them?

It sounds as though your company was bilking the taxpayer, just in a secondhand way.

FFSake can any of you do simple math.

The importer is paying WITH I REPEAT WITH the manufacturers money. He lowers his price to the importer so the importer can pay the tariff and hit a price point.

Ive done this shat for 30 years internationally and stated on this board a dozen times this is what would happen. The US is the Walmart/Amazon of the world, you cant lose the market and you will shave margins or move manufacturing here.

Apple not only manufactures abroad, they use Ireland as a tax haven to keep profits offshore and avoid taxes as well. All with those stupid logos on the backs of cars pretending to be American. They dont invest shat in America and Trump told Cook as much. Hence his arse is going to make domestically.

The manufacturing is here in the US, there are no tariffs.........

Whats next the tariffs are the reason LSU and Florida fired their coaches?

So the subsidies didn’t have an impact on sales?

That’s counterintuitive.
