Trump is always seen as “the bully.” Soccer moms are his most difficult target, and it’s because they see him as rude and mean. He’s hurting with this one voting block.

I think his plan tonight was not to win them over by looking nice, because they would never believe that. He was out to make Biden look equally rude and mean. Trump was constantly interrupting and calling him out to goad him into angry attacks, and it worked. Biden looked just as mean as Trump tonight.

If you don’t think this worked, then you do t understand what’s happening with suburban women. They are only leaving Trump because thy believe civility is needed. The moment they see that Biden is uncivil is when they stay in the Trump camp, because they one reason they would leave him has been undermined.

This debate was a chaotic mess, and I think this actually plays to Trump’s favor where it counts.

Only issue is Trump is the instigator. If that were his plan, it definitely backfired. Tonight was not a good performance.

Trump came off more as a bully, but Biden called a sitting President a liar, racist, clown, and told him to shut up.

That talking point about suburban women is false. They say they don’t like it, but when they get in that booth, they’ll vote for the guy who will protect them.

This is actually the best analysis I've seen tonight on what his strategy may have been.

Dude you’re delusional. Biden was name calling and mud fighting all night long. He and Trump were equals in this. To say otherwise is simply biased mental gymnastics.

Trump's body language was something to watch. He commanded the stage. Every time, I mean every time, Wallace interrupted he would point at Wallace as if to say "not your turn, I'm speaking" all while Biden had poor body language.

Trump looked very comfortable and calm. He constantly interrupted for a reason. I'm thinking along the same lines as your idea.

Joe’s never had an original thought go through that feeble brain of his in his life. See his plagiarism issues.

He’s assumed the tactic of playing the tough guy because he thinks it’s what worked for Trump in 2016. The flaw in that line of thinking is that it was only ONE factor in Trump’s success.

The reason why this whole “trump is losing suburban white women” narrative came about is because Trump is getting support from black and Hispanic Americans at a rate that no Republican has had since the late 50s/early 60s.
