He needs to be careful here. He used the word "kills".

There have been cases where law enforcement officers have been justifiably killed in the line of duty.

There was a case in Oklahoma a few years back where a deputy broke down the front door of a home and was shot and killed by the home owner. The deputy got the address wrong and the homeowner thought it was a home invasion. The DA declined to prosecute.

In cases like that I don't believe people would be indiscriminately receive the death penalty. It's not like a blank check, everything will go thru the court system.

Will this apply to killing k9s? Because it should

Fuuuuuuuuck no, it shouldn’t.

Dogs are not people. A dog is not a police officer and will never be a police officer.

The death penalty should only apply if you kill a person- a human.

Killing a firefighter on the job would almost assuredly be in cold blood. Kill someone who does that.

Police? frick off. People have to defend themselves against police at times.

Anyone who thinks someone deserves the death penalty for killing a K-9 can die in a fire. Cops kill them and don’t get in trouble. Cops abuse their use. They’re unpredictable.

If a completely innocent person is attacked by a K-9, the officer should receive the death penalty. If an officer mistakenly puts an inncocent person in position to have to defend their life, the officer should receive the death penalty.

End qualified immunity.

Then we can talk about the death penalty when a citizen kills an officer.
