Uh, actually not. There is a White House invite for the champions every year, going back decades. It would be unusual if there wasn't an invite.

That really wasn't a melt post by tboy. I have to be honest.

I'm just anticipating the bullshite about the team (or members of the team) declining the Presidential invite which we know will happen.

Such an a-hole move by these athletes.

A man becomes preeminent, he's expected to have enthusiasms. Enthusiasms, enthusiasms... What are mine? What draws my admiration? What is that which gives me joy? Baseball!

People lined up since last night to see him speak in Tupelo tonight.

Not saying the Nats will, but the players who have been "protesting" by not visiting the White House are a bunch of gutless, empty virtue signaling pussies. If you don't like the President and/or his policies, that's completely OK. But don't act like you're some fricking "hero" just because you decline an invitation to visit the White House. Instead, how about you go and take it as an opportunity to meet with the President and express your concerns. Use it as an opportunity to lobby for whatever change you want to see rather than vapid virtue signaling without any substance.

I guarantee that 90% (maybe higher) of the athletes who so vocally oppose visiting the President couldn't provide a logical basis as to why they "hate" him. They just hate him because the media says it's popular to do so.

There will obviously be enough of them going to have this publicly released. The MLB teams haven't been the problem it's been the NBA and NFL and women's soccer. I was confident the Nats would go.
