I usually initially doubt myself when this happens... but daggum if they (democrats) aren't constantly stepping on rakes.

It is a decline.

This is more about spreading the US influence in South America.

NYT

We got him now!

Reality

Deals with countries are being made. US and China agreed to a temporary deescalation on tariffs back in October.

They have also worked deals with Ecuador, Guatemala, Argentina and El Salvador.

Alos close to a deal with Switzerland.

quote:

WASHINGTON/ZURICH, Nov 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. and Switzerland edged closer to a trade deal on Thursday to reduce President Donald Trump's crippling 39% tariffs on Swiss imports and shrink Switzerland's trade surplus with the U.S. after talks in Washington on Thursday, officials from the two countries said.

Yeah that looks like a decline.

Hard to tell without more info, but the y-axis is labeled rate. Which could refer to the rate of increase. So prices are still going up, but at a slightly slower rate than they were.

Either way, I wouldn’t make any conclusions based on that somewhat ambiguous, unsourced graph.

We are all paying more because of tariffs.

Complete spin by this administration that everything is cheaper.

On food?

Got a graph?

One thing that has gotten back down to ridiculously cheap is milk... I bought some on my Walmart app and was friggin shocked at how inexpensive it is.

66 cents for a half gallon, $1.08 for a gallon.

Eggs... 15-18 cents each.

Now, beef... is expensive.

People are so binary. Tariffs are either bad or good. What they don't get is that they are a tool that needs calibration. This is that kind of calibration in action.

Let the man cook.

I don't think so... but to be honest, I was just as shocked as you when I shopped it- been paying Publix prices so long I was sure there was some kind of error on that cost!

That would make an interesting thread... pick a common item or two and price it out among posters. Apparently I'm stealing milk ova heah!

Ah throw a little Maslow in there, I like it. Of the modern era I would say Trump and Reagan probably reached self actualization. Id throw Hedy Lamarr in there as well. A beautiful woman, killer figure, top pin up in WW2, movie star, and along the way invented "frequency hopping spread spectrum technology" which not only secured communication with our nuclear arsenal but was the mother of wi fi, gps and blue tooth. Now that was some woman.

Back to your comments, I concur. I dont see many banana or coffee plantations in the US, give the people what they want. Course if was a talking point for the tariff haters.....and Trump just took that away as well, so we can have back millions of lost manufacturing jobs and our cup of tea...er coffee as well.

It came from Bessent's mouth moron. He said food price relief was coming.

"You're going to see [a] substantial announcement over the next couple of days in terms of things we don't grow here in the United States. Coffee, coffee being one of them. Bananas, other fruits, things… that will bring the prices down very quickly," Bessent said during an interview on "Fox & Friends."

Let me clue you. The reason he says prices are going down is because of a reduction in tariffs is coming.
