In Minnesota, you have these luxury apartments that have been taken over by Dindus and immigrants. They have a state law where 16% of the housing units in any multifamily development have to be Section 8.

That's how they plan on taking over the suburbs.

If you're eligible for Section 8, you can't afford even a crappy house today. The states would have to do something to prevent homelessness from skyrocketing, like forcing able-bodied people to get a job

Sister in law works for a high end real estate company and manages several properties that are on Section 8 designation (yes, I see the irony here)

Anywho, she said after a year lease, they have to easily put in 10-15K/unit and most of it cannot be claimed on insurance. Why aren't there any restrictions put on these people? Plus, it's not like the real estate firms can go after them as they have nothing as it is.

After the illegals get deported they can do those jobs.

And welfare reform is very much needed. I am all for helping out the needy (my charity shows that), but welfare should not be a way of life. Welfare should only be available for a short period of time like 5 years over a lifetime.

It should be a helping hand in a difficult time. Not a way of life.

I have mentioned it here before but my farm is in VERY rural Alabama. There are only 140 people who live within 5 miles of it. But 75% of the people there are on welfare and many are over 50 years of age and NEVER HAD A JOB during their lifetime. Thats ridiculous.

A lot of fraud in Kommiefornia.
Furriners come in and pay in cash for very large and very expensive houses, then throw their parents in Section 8 apartments close by.

Or, people who actually work for their keep don't have to compete with societal leeches and the increased cost of housing due to being subsidized.

Rent may actually go down from this

It will go down just like EVs when government subsidies get pulled. Want grocery prices to drop, too? End EBT and re-establish government distribution of basic necessities for those that can't or wont feed themselves.

Section 8 can and will absolutely kill home values. The MF'ers will not take care of their house.

Let me know once he does it, and I will come back on here and genuflect and give him the full credit he deserves.

Go to work like the rest of us?

I know 100% disabled vets that go to work everyday. Only the truly infirmed should get a totally free ride.

Man, the folks in construction that have tapped into this market and know how to play it make absolute bank.

That's because those developers can get permits and zoning changes way easier than someone that wants to develop regular housing.

FYI they don’t call it section 8 anymore. it’s called a housing choice voucher. Democrats trying to remove the stigma.

We have a proposed 144 unit multi family up on P&Z commission that’s 60% funded by low interest loans form Obama era HUD grants. The builder said in a previous meeting that it’s not section 8. He was being slick. The loan is contingent on 59% of tenets be low income.

A president saying they want to get rid of Sec 8 is the best thing I've ever heard.

I am convinced Section 8 is almost single-handedly responsible for the disintegration of society in our major cities, with the rot originating from wherever section 8 housing, and their tenants, begin taking root.

When Section 8 begins it will cause the public schools to decay, the local businesses will struggle and national chains will move, and everyone that can relocate will do so. When you wonder how most big cities in the USA have turned into rotting ghettos, I would argue that Section 8 is the root cause.
