I think this is a case where Trump is compromising on the national security front. He can't fight the Deep State on both the economic and national security front. That is just too difficult.

So he's simply acquiescing to the generals while he remains very strong on economic populism, re: current NAFT renegotiations: NAFTA Round One Re-negotiations conclude.. (This is why the CEOs are pissed...not that C'ville bull shite).

There is no reason to send more troops to Afghanistan.

If that actually means a swell in ground support.

I'll hold my opinion until I hear his comments

Curious to hear the plan but this sounds like a colossal mistake.

There is no winning in Afghanistan. What is different now?

Get ready for anti war marches body counts on all msm.

Terrible terrible mistake and I'm a huge Trump guy.

We should probably wait to hear what he says. And what he doesn't say. And how he says it.

I'm also not convinced boots on the ground here equals nation building. I think that's probably not accurate.

We have an interest in fighting terrorists. Hopefully, that is what this is. This isn't contrary to an anti intervention stance.

I'll go ahead and say that Gen. Mattis knows better than anyone here and anyone you might know concerning military agenda. You're being foolish if you think President Trump came up with this on his own.

Not thinking that at all.

I hope Trump presented the generals with an objective and he generals communicated to Trump the best method to achieve that objective.

I hope the objective is to minimize our presence in Afghanistan for the long haul. I'm a bit skeptical about a immediate troop increase to achieve the longer term objective of Afghanistan de minimus.

Let's see what Trump says tomorrow night.

Your statement is correct but you forgot one vital piece of the puzzle.

Trump is always bragging how he never tips his hand on military decisions. Unlike his predecessor. What a horse's rear end.

Despite being one of the poorest nations in the world, Afghanistan may be sitting on one of the richest troves of minerals in the world, valued at nearly $1 trillion, scientists say.

McMaster and Kelly are going rotisserie style on Melania.

You know it, I know it, Trump watches it from the corner.

So sad.

It must be the coming eclipse.....but I totally agree with you on this one, regardless of where the blame is.
